Wasn't expecting pink
I think they changed the image since I ordered-- I was not expecting pink and find it hard to read. Otherwise it works fine; haven't had any problems using this to cut fabric on a mat so I'm glad I didn't spend twice as much getting a "non-slip" ruler.
3Bait and switch
Not like the one pictured!!!! Looks like a cheap import/knock-off. The markings are in white on pink. The Fiskars logo does not look right. I use the 3x18 ruler and the lines and visibility is much crisper than this one. Had I known I would have ordered another 3x18 ruler instead.
1Disappointed at the lines used for measurement
Disappointed at the lines used for measurement. I thought I had looked carefully at the lines. I was looking for clear thin lines for precise measurement then cutting with a rotary cutter. Some of the lines are very thick which makes it difficult to measure and cut precisely. Many name brands and popular rulers have the thicker lines so it is not just this ruler.
3I love the size
I'm a new quilter and this tool was so helpful to me making my first quilt ever. The only reason I give it 4 stars is, I wish I would have ordered a ruler that doesn't have stars as the lines. It can be hard to line up the fabric because of the stars. Other than that, I love the size, and it's easy to maneuver.
4Great product! Easy to read!
This is by far, in my opinion, the best clear plastic ruler to use with a rotary cutter. The letters are easy to read, the ruler is organized well in the engineering (and if you use one a lot like I do, you will know what I mean by that!) and it works well. I sew costumes for ballet costumes and it's important for my tools to work well. I have three of this product. Best in class
5So hard to use
This 6x24" ruler is so hard to use when I need precise cutting. The inch marks are too thick with white, and it is really hard to see how accurate your lineup is. For quilting I need precision when cutting. It is fine if you are only looking for a straight edge, but I would definitely not recommend this ruler for cutting anything that cannot be off 1/16th of an inch. I am truly disappointed.
16x24 is bigger than you think
This was bigger than I envisioned but it is the perfect size for our application. We are using this in a photo booth with a red background to take photos of the parts for our machines. The scale is easy to read and gives great perspective to the photos. I can't imagine a better tool for our needs. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars it one edge was a little sharp and needed to be hit with sandpaper the take the edge off.
4The grids make all the difference!
I have another 6 x 24 acrylic ruler with lines running the length of the ruler, but only occasional cross lines and it can be inconvenient. Still, I hadn't thought much about it, but one of the sewing classes I was watching pointed out how easy the grid pattern made things and I ordered this ruler. I'm glad I did...the grid really does make things easy.
5Big fuzzy lines
The ruler works as it should, but the lines are thick and I feel like it makes my cuts off by a millimeter. On tiny blocks, that fraction of error can compound greatly. Otherwise sturdy and generally accurate.
3not to mention the thing is slick as snot and slips like crazy. I cut it up with a Dremel ...
You don't get the ruler pictured. You get something with the purple lines outlined in thick white--why, I don't know. It's stamped Fiskars, but it's difficult to measure cuts with precision by looking at some opaque line that's already 1/8 inch thick, not to mention the thing is slick as snot and slips like crazy. I cut it up with a Dremel tool for a fussy cut template for my mother or it would have been completely useless.
