The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the notebook I received had some strange indentations in the first few couple pages, as though something heavy had indented a straight line down the side of the paper. In addition, the top of the pages towards the end of the notebook were a bit crinkly and uneven. The notebook still functions perfectly well though. The only other complaint I have is the fact that the folders inside are made of paper instead of plastic. My Staples brand 3 subject notebooks all have plastic folders, which I find not only to be more aesthetically pleasing that manilla colored paper folders, but also more durable and functional, as there is little fear of being ripped. I've been using this brand and style of notebook for work for at least 10 years now. The 5 subject is also great. The pages have a nice perforation for tearing away the sheets neatly. I think I paid a bit extra to ensure I got the white cover. Not sure why this mattered this time around, but I splurged. 5
