    i got mine in 1970 i think maybe 1969 or 1971 even though I have moved any times and although it has been super tangled and the cats bent it is still wonderful and hangs well. some tails and whiskers are bent but the wires are straight and the string is not broken.i looked it up on amazon to see if i could afford another one to go with this one so i could give one to each of my kids at some point. they both used this one over their beds for years growing up.the price is to high for me but the product is SO WORTH the price; and lasting this far in the game of life makes this mobile priceless to me. : ) 5Happy in Maryland Love their mobiles 5classy cats I'm so much more pleased with this than I expected; it's really high-quality. The paper stock (that the cats are made of) is thick and coated, and it's a really dense shade of black. It's really striking. It's hanging in an archway where the heat/air makes it twirl very often, but it has yet to get tangled even once, which surprises (and pleases) me. I do have the hanging cord shortened from what's shown in the item photo, simply because it turned out to be very long and would have been hitting people's heads (it was easy to do; I just wrapped it at the base). Even when there's no noticeable air current, they dance gently. Their facial expressions are detailed and mysterious; they're pretty intriguing. You could certainly put this in a child's room, but it looks just fine in my apartment with my other noir cat things. I wouldn't put it where it could be hit, run into, or otherwise banged up, because I'm not sure it could survive that. Hung at a safe height, though, I'm confident that this isn't going anywhere. 5It's just okay. It was bent when we opened it. You can definitely tell it's cardboard. 2Lower Your Blood Pressure This is the second Cats Hanging Mobile that I have purchased from Flensted; first one hangs in my house in FL and this one now in CA. One caution though: in high humidity climates (such as in FL) it is suggested to hang it in a dry place/spot (the installation instruction actually recommends this as well). It's made out of paper cardboard and over time (in FL) "cats" bend a bit due to higher moisture in the air.It's a smooth calming mobile and with spot lamp (which generates some heat) aimed at it from angle or below, it gently moves around and projects cats shadows on surrounding walls. It's a "medical" device as well as it probably lowers your blood pressure, LOL! 5
