Customer Reviews

Amazing for MovingHow does this product work so well? I used it for the first time while I was moving. I have this mirrored cabinet full of jewelry and makeup. Instead of emptying it, I just used Press N Seal over all of it, and then taped the whole thing shut for the move. I assumed I'd open it to find everything everywhere, but shockingly every single thing was perfectly in it's place! Plus, I just peeled off the Press N Seal easily - it didn't even stick to anything, not even my tiny delicate stud earrings! It holds strong - even being tossed around while moving - but removes easily! Couldn't recommend it more!5Works well, but leaves sticky residue behind.I absolutely love this, and I use it for virtually anything that I need to seal. It seals very nicely on everything that I've used it on. I've put it on top of plastic cups, knocked them over and none of the liquid spilled! I've dropped containers that I've covered with this, and it holds in place perfectly.I have noticed, though, that it leaves behind a sticky substance on most surfaces that I use it on. I have to scrub, and scrub...and scrub to get the residue off, and that has caused me to use this product a bit less. I will continue to use it, but mostly on containers/cups/plates/bowls that I'll be throwing in the garbage.4Best type of plastic wrap in history, and great priceI absolutely love Glad Press N' Seal plastic wrap. I try to save money by buying generic or store brands of basics like paper towels, sandwich bags, etc., but the one name brand I must have at all times in my kitchen is Glad Press N' Seal, because no other brands compare. It truly seals items you wrap up and store in the fridge, keeps air out and food fresh for much longer than when using traditional plastic wrap. Its also great for lining your refrigerator shelves. I line them every 4 months with Press N'Seal, which makes it super easy and quick to clean my fridge. Any spills and messes are limited to the Press N'Seal, so I just remove it from my shelves and the mess is gone. No scrubbing the bulky fridge shelves in my sink, no spending hours cleaning my fridge. Press N'Seal is fantastic for fridges. It's also great for giving extra insulation to drafty windows in the winter. Living in historic, beautiful, but drafty old NYC apartment buildings, I always have at least one window that's not sealed well and lets in cold air during the winter. I've tried window sealing kits that you blow dry onto the windows without much success. Then I read about using Press N' Seal and tried it and it works great! No blow dryer needed. The Press N'Seal grips the window and windowsill (anywhere you put it, it grips tight) and stops the drafts. You don't have to use tape, or a blow dryer, or anything. Just press and leave it, and it stays up all winter.5better than many of the off-brand cling wrapsOver the years I've bought off-brand cling wraps and often found them to be inferior to Glad. The others tangled much more easily and sometimes the cutting blades weren't as sharp as the Glad ones, which meant that any savings were eaten up in wastage. That being said, it's still an acquired art to use cling wrap without an occasional angry word escaping from your lips, but for the most part this is as good a product as I can find.I buy the 12-inch-wide version, since it serves 95% of my needs, and the box fits properly on our shelf. The 4-pack was the most economical choice, although it may be years until I use it all (and of course I have to store the extra rolls until then).FYI:I use the Glad Wrap mostly for kitchen and food needs. A closely related product -- if you need cling/shrink wrap for furniture, glass, frames and so on -- would be the 80-gauge packing wrap (or film). I pick the style with a handle, which makes it MUCH easier to apply. If you're interested, search for "TOTALPACK 5" x 1000' Roll 80 Gauge Thick + Hybrid Technology with Dispenser, 6 Pack Stretch Packing Wrap, Plastic Pallet Shrink Film, Clear" or something similar. You can also buy single rolls or sets of 2 or 4 rolls. I used this extensively for a recent move and it was perfect -- no broken glass or scratched surfaces. It also served well for folded items (such as strollers) that I didn't want to apply packing tape directly to.5If cling wrap makes you mad, try this instead!Whoever invented Press-n-Seal ought to win some sort of major prize. This is the science we need, folks! I'll never use cling wrap again. I use Press-n-Seal for all sorts of things, and not just food. Need a package for foam ear plugs? Wrap a pair in Press-n-Seal! Need an individual serving size of Ibuprophen for your bag/purse? Wrap those puppies in this! Of course, it IS great for food. Half a raw onion left after cooking dinner? Wrap it in Press-n-Seal and it won't stink up your fridge/kitchen AND will remain fresh for the next day's use.I will admit that I am a convert. When I first saw this advertised lo those many years ago, I thought: "Who the heck needs this?" ::scoff, scoff:: Turns out, I do! (Bonus: we've cut down on our consumption of tin foil since beginning to use this -- that seems to be a good thing.)Warning: these boxes of Press-n-Seal are larger than the boxes I see at the grocery store. Not longer, but fatter. It can be a bit fiddly in terms of getting them into our kitchen drawer, especially since they share space with parchment paper and tin foil.5Life isn't complete without it.We are heavy user of this product in our home. The constant cooking and experimenting in the kitchen makes for a healthy amount of leftovers, and Glad Press n' Seal has been the best at keeping those leftovers fresh. Sounds silly to have such a deep appreciation of a simple product, but - once - we ran out of Press n' Seal and had to revert to the older wrap; it became clear in that moment that this is a far superior product to any other food wrap, and we keep a close eye on our stock so as to never run out again. Can't recommend it highly enough for those who use their kitchens with any frequency.5This stuff is freakin awesome. I don't know who invented it but I ...This stuff is freakin awesome. I don't know who invented it but I would like to give them a big fat kiss. I use it on leftovers, I use it on cans of soda that I drink the rest of the next day, I wrap my baked goods in it.. I use it on my husband when he has road rash from biking and can't get something wet in the shower. Thank you Glad!5It s the first plastic wrap I ve ever bought that actually clings to the bowl or plateI noticed that a neighbor always brought over things with plastic wrap that really worked and he told me about this so I bought some. I really love it and I would give it five stars except to be honest it s really hard sometimes to get a clean cut out of the roll and I am wasting some of the product.4Wonderful for Making your own Temporary Lids--Sticks GreatI love this product. I make green smoothies a couple times a week. I like to put my smoothies in glasses rather than plastic cups. I just use this, Glad Press'n Seal Plastic Food Wrap to make a lid and pop it in the fridge. I find I can store them about 24 hours before they lose their potency. One time a glass got knocked over in the fridge, but it didn t spill. This stuff held tight and I sooo appreciated not having to clean green smoothie up off all my shelves and other food items.5I *LOVE* Press 'n Seal! The issue of Glad Press 'n Seal vs plastic wrap is one in which the fine folks in Cook's Ilustrated product testing and I vehemently disagree; they don't like Press 'n Seal & prefer plastic wrap; I *love* Press 'n Seal and you'll never find a roll of any brand of plastic wrap in my house!I've never been able to use plastic wrap effectively. I'd try to tear it, and it wouldn't tear evenly. Then, it would stick to me, the counter, or itself - getting hopelessly mangled before it ever got NEAR whatever I was trying to wrap or cover with it.Plastic wrap doesn't stick to... plastic. Unless that plastic is itself. My experience with plastic wrap (over several YEARS, people!) was so frustrating, I eventually gave up on using it entirely.Then...those wonderful folks in the Glad R&D department invented...PRESS 'N SEAL...and I was REBORN!Finally, a wrap that I can tear straight. A wrap that will stick to plastic. And glass. And metal.A wrap I can use to tightly enclose leftover bits of cheese, produce, etc...airtight!I use it to tightly wrap chicken parts, homemade enchiladas, cheese, etc., then package the individual wrapped items in a zipper bag and pop it in the freezer. Keeps them free from freezer-burn for months!Yes, I love my Glad Press 'n Seal. It changed my life. The three roll pack of 100 ft. per roll will probably last me a year; the cost is a small price to pay for something that makes me so very, VERY, happy!Try it. You'll be happy, too!5
