Customer Reviews

Had a year and the handles are ready to fall offI loved this set for the first few months. I still take immaculate care of them and while they havent scratched, I'm now finding the handles are so loose I'm quite frightened to even lift it by the handle anymore that it will bust off. Theres no contact info for the manufacturer so now I'm left just over a year later with something I can't even use. I would've rather had paid a little bit more for something that would've lasted. While its tempting because of the reviews, save your money. 1Excellent Over Time If You Treat It WellIf you follow the instructions, this pan will last and remain wonderfully non-stick. I'm very happy with this product.I purchased two of these (8" and 10") about six months ago. I use the 10 almost every day sometimes multiple times a day. I forgot to tell my son the rules for using these pans, and he ruined the 8" pan by cooking eggs on high without spraying oil on first. Those two mistakes on one cooking incident hurt the pan permanently. Yes, one mistake can permanently ruin the pan. So I can't stress enough how important it is to follow the instructions. You can't treat it like a stainless steel pan. You must expect that it will take a little more time and effort and care in order for the pan to last and not be flawed. Here are the steps I've followed on the 10" pan to keep it like new:1. I spray the pan with an oil spray if the food I m cooking is not oily. I cook a lot of hamburger meat in these pans, and I don't need to spray oil because the meat itself is greasy enough. But for eggs and other things that are not oily, I use Pam or similar.2. I NEVER turn the burner on to a setting higher than medium on my electric stove. (I don t know how gas burners affect this pan, or how high you can turn up the burner if using gas stove, but I d be cautious.)3. I NEVER use metal in the pan when cooking or cleaning. I even store this pan on top of others so that the metal from the bottom of another pan doesn t scrape against the cooking surface of this pan.4. When I am done cooking, I immediately pour some dishwashing liquid in the pan, along with some water, and let it sit for a while. I usually let it sit until I finish eating, and then I clean it up.5. When I am ready to clean, I use a dish rag only. I never use a scouring pad or anything rough to clean the pan. There is no need to use anything other than a dish rag, especially if the pan has a little while to sit in the soapy water for a while before cleanup. The pan is very easy to clean if treated properly. I use only dishwashing liquid and water. I do not put the pan in the dishwasher. So after I clean the pan by hand, I dry it with a towel and put it away.Today, six months later, it still seems new. No scratches. Still nonstick. 5Diamond reinforced? I think not!It looked nice out of the package... but after the first use there's a scratch in the finish. I cooked hamburgers and used a plastic spatula, nothing that should have scratched this pan but when I washed it I noticed a small scratch.Listen, I don't expect much for a $20 pan but I do expect it make it through at least one use without losing it's finish. 1Non Stick lasted about 2 weeksDiscovered these while visiting my sister's house. Her pans worked great. We bought a set, and the fry pans we used literally started sticking and staining after 2 weeks. We used them as instructed.Just cooking omelettes, nothing crazy.Green Life customer support email has only responded with a "We'll respond back to you in 48 hours"....that was about a week ago.I know Amazon now allows Chinese copies to be sold (though Im sure they will deny that) , and I'm wondering if maybe we got a knockoff, or are these pans really that bad. We've only had them 2 months, and the fry pans are stained and everything sticks to them now.Huge disappointment. 1Limited life span with daily use.I bought this griddle in July 2018. This review is dated March 6, 2019. The griddle worked well for about six months. It then lost its flat surface and began to warp and bulge upward (see pictures - griddle with layer of water to show drainage to corners). The metal surface in the middle, most in contact with the electric stove deformed and bulged outward. Any oil used in cooking drains to the sides of the griddle. The griddle was used four out of seven days in a week to make dosa and related Indian crepes such as Uttappam. With oil draining to the sides, the griddle is no longer of use. The alloy used is obviously not capable to taking the rigors of Indian cooking. 1These peThe lids are not vented. That means that they will rattle and stick when they cool making them hard to separate. I have some stainless steel pans with solid lids. I have to cook with a spoon sticking out of the pans to be able to remove the lid easily. I decided to keep them and deal with the lids. I must admit, the price was pretty good. If I bought the $300 set and the lids were not vented they would go back, but I don't want to spend that much unless I am sure they will be dishwasher safe 5This set is horrible!! Once they were heatedThis set is horrible!! Once they were heated, they put off an atrocious odor that was difficult to air out. Just to confirm, I tried to boil water with another pan in the set and it was unbearable as well. Sadly, Injust had to throw away all of it. Waste of money! 1Great set for the price!!!Almost every review I've read about this set have come from people who've only had it for a week or 2. I decided to hold off for a while to give people a good idea of how these work on the long run.I bought this set in April of this year and, for the price, I couldn't be happier. They first came out of the box and 2 pieces were severely damaged but Amazon resolved everything quickly by sending a brand new set for an exchange in the same week I received the damaged set. The non stick coating worked like a dream from day 1. I havent had so much fun cooking eggs, sauces, and meats since I worked in restaurants; all of it without any kind of fat or oil! To those that are asthetically inclined, they look great. Everything in the set looks and feels cutting edge and they add a lot of charm and professionalism to the modern kitchen.Be aware, however, that these pots and pans are meant to be used on medium heat. The coating will wear out much faster if you're ripping your burners up all the time and searing everything. Not to worry, they conduct and hold heat better than a lot of other materials so they cook a lot more evenly. They also chip rather easily so be careful about banging the rims with utinsels or when storing them.At the end of the day, this cook set is VERY well priced for the quality. Of course, they're not bullet proof. Both of the large saute pans have lost their coating after having them 6 months but they still conduct and hold heat better than anything I've owned before. I just use more fat when cooking and they work just fine. 10/10 would recommend. 5Failed to be non-sticky after half a year of moderate ...Failed to be non-sticky after half a year of moderate use. I know that my electric stove is tough to the skillets. So other skillets of other brands have failed as well but at least they worked for about 2 years. I believe that that main reason that skillet lasted so short is that is having very thin surface even on the bottom. Definitely, avoid purchasing of it if you use electric stove. 1Omelet PanI have a small GreenLife frying pan for eggs over easy. And that is all it is for. It is my third Thermolon frying pan, and it has lasted for over a year (knock wood) with no sticking. My first one lasted maybe a little longer. My second one was a short timer. Both were great right up until the very moment they weren't, which, reading online about these kinds of pans, seems to be about how it goes.Which is why I bought this pan for omelets. My husband is irrational about food. Probably because food was the only arrow in my late (rest her soul) mother-in-law's affection quiver. Don't get me wrong. She loved him - and all of us - dearly. But her only uncomplicated way of showing it was with delicious, and perfectly presented, food. Which brings us to my husband's eggs.He is a dear about it, but he really really gets disappointed when his yolks break. It makes him genuinely upset. I love him - he makes me heart shaped meatloaf on Valentine's Day - so I buy him thermal egg pans. Recently, he has been making omelets. Our stainless and cast iron pans take a lot of oil for those, and they still can end up a mess. And he's upset, because he prepares them so carefully and wants them to be perfect. So I bought him this.We love the small one for eggs over easy, but it's not big enough for omelets. This is the perfect size, and the omelets turn beautifully. The price is good enough that when it succumbs to sudden thermolon death we'll be good to buy another.Things you should know: 1. These are supposedly dishwasher safe. We don't put ours in the dishwasher. We don't even use the scrubby side of a sponge. 2. The pan has a flat bottom, so it will work on glass electric stoves, but it is aluminum, so it won't work on induction. 3. You can use a little oil in these pans, but think flavor more than grease. 4. Thermolon is Thermolon. There's no need to buy a more expensive aluminum Thermolon pan. 4
