Customer Reviews
Poor packing resulting in damaged productPaper quality is great. Unfortunately both reams burst out of their packaging in transit resulting in bent edges and paper I can't use for the purpose of client presentations as planned. Now having to scramble and go get paper late night instead of finishing presentations for tomorrow. Would be five star price and product if they figured out how to ship it in a way that didn't damage it.
1Hammermill is one of the best laser/inkjet papers aroundI have used hammermill products in 8.5x11, 11x17 tabloid, and 13x19 art paper in my laser and inkjet printers without a problem. It gets a 5 star rating for these reasons1 - smooth surface makes for precise printouts that dont blead ink or attract stray toner particles2 - dust free paper does not contaminate my printers, saves wear and tear, and avoids the fuzz buildup3 - holds alot of ink on inkjet systems without ripple4 - comes in a celophane wrapper to further reduce dust emission5 - edges are cut exactly square and printers which measure the paper (e.g. HP designjet 3200ps) show that the cheaper papers are just a tad oversize by .02 " (e.g. 8.5 x 11 measures by the printer to be 8.52 x 11.02 inches)so basically they are not going cheap and miscutting their paper which prevents errors on printers that measure squareness of the sheets6 - waterproofness - while partially a property of the ink, used with pigment inks or laser toner they don't blead color or curl7 - 24 lb instead of the typical 20 with a polished smooth surface gives reports a quality look and feel, and the 98 brightness is not blinding bright but elegant bright.8 - seldom if ever do I have a feed problem, while 20lb papers sometimes fanfold up during feed due to lightweight paper. This is true of all 24lb papers, but hammermill just makes a good one that is universally available.Best deal is here on amazon they are $3.74 less than the office supply store, no tax, and shipped in 2 days with amazon prime to my door saving gas to drive and buy the exact same paper. I highly recommend it for all your printing needs.
5Oh, H**l No.I ordered, and paid for, a 10 ream case of this paper. What I got was a single ream, opened at both ends and apparently missing paper, crammed into a Sam's Club box with a Sam's Club invoice that doesn't remotely resemble what I purchased. See photo. Note how incredibly much this is NOT a case of paper. Or what even resembles an actual NEW single ream.Waiting to hear if the "business" I originally ordered from is willing to communicate about this. If so, I'll change my rating. If not, I'll finish this review and it won't be pretty.
1Thick and sturdyI got this paper for general purposes, but wanted a paper thick enough that I could print double sided without having the ink "bleed" through and be visible from both sides. This paper certainly was the answer! When I grab my pages of print I catch myself rubbing at the pages trying to separate them until I remember that, "oh yes, these are the thick pieces of paper." There is absolutely no bleeding through the paper when printing double sided and when I hold up the paper to light it is still easy to read the side I am looking at without having the back side print shine through. I do not use this paper for picture printing so I cannot speak to the quality for pictures. I use the double sided printing on my hp inkjet printer primarily for printing recipes to put in my 3-ring binder recipie book. While this paper would certainly be strong enough to hold up to the 3hole punch and going directly into the book, I use transparent sleeves to hold them in place. I do this so that when I'm cooking /baking I can easily wipe up my messes if I spill or splatter onto the pages. Highly recommend this paper for double sided printing of all sorts.
5Great printer paper. Elegant white. Nice semi-heavy stock. This is first time I have used Hammermill paper products and I can honestly say, WOW!I've tried other brands out there but this is hands down the best Laser Printer Paper. Images are smooth and text comes out really sharp. It reliably feeds thru Laser Printers without jams. You can't beat it for 2 sided copying or duplexing. Both sides are very white and smooth.- 24 lb instead of the typical 20 with a polished smooth surface gives your work a quality look and feel- The 98 brightness is not blinding bright but elegant bright- Smooth surface makes for precise printoutsDon't let the weight fool you - it feels and looks like much heavier stock but will run thru any laser printer. This paper is REALLY designed FOR Laser printers so it withstands the heat without curling, sticking etc. and more importantly it doesn't glug up your laser printer.I highly recommend this product plus you can't beat the price here on Amazon!
5BUYER BEWAREThe shipping box was fine, but the paper package was opened and then sealed again with a scotch tape, looks like someone had tried it, didn't liked it, and returned it before i got this paper. ALSO: doesn't look like Hammermill quality AT ALL. I have this brand at my Graphic Design school and the quality of this paper is poor. I opened the package, and most of the paper was crinkled in the corners. Oh man!Oh, and my "favorite part" - THIS PAPER IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN! (what?? Yep, that's true, you can't return it!)Sorry for all caps, i'm just quite disappointed right now.So, buyer beware. Sad! :(
1Amazon Delivery Continues to Destroy & DisappointWhat a waste.Printer paper unfit for the printer. Not because of Hammermill, because of Amazon. (See photos of busted open teams.)I use this paper at the office and love it. I decided to try it at home. Obviously the delivery teams in the neighborhood don t take the care the downtown units take.It s frustrating because this waste also causes the hassle of having to return, chase amazon for the refund and wait for the replacement.
1Great Paper, Bad HandlingI am conflicted about this review. I gave it five stars for the the paper itself. But like many other reviewers, I had an issue with what I'm assuming is the handling during shipping.I have ordered this paper one ream at a time in the past, but I like this paper so much I decided to order a whole case of 4000 sheets. The order was shipped promptly, but when I received the case it looked pretty beat up. I wasn't too concerned about that. When I opened the box to pull out the individual reams, that's when I noticed how rough the handling was. Seven of the eight reams were busted open. Who knows what this case of paper has been through, but when I received it, it was in rough shape.I will be hesitant to order in this quantity again.
5Ideal paper for high resolution color laser output (heavy)I use this in a HP color LaserJet (with the colorsphere fine resolution toner) for high resolution output. The paper has a heavy feel, a bright white finish, and an exceptionally smooth surface which results in the best performance on registration and toner transfer for 4-color output. When compared side by side to cheap generic "copy-paper" results, this is ideally preferred as the "copy paper" looks yellow and fuzzy by comparison. For bulkier reports, I use the same product but in 24lb basis weight. It's still heavier than 20lb "copy paper" with all the same benefits, just less weight. I do use the "copy paper" cheap stuff in my black&white laser/fax.Also, this paper is dust free compared to the copy paper which preserves the machine and its supplies.
5JammedIt worked fine in my Canon iP7220 injet printer, using color or black, and it did not smear. But it jammed twice in my Brother L2700DW laser printer, the printer in which I planned to use this paper primarily. I followed the instructions on the package that say to use the bottom-side to print on (as the paper is taken from the top of the package). I expected this paper, which has a coating, to give more contrasty results than ordinary paper, but my Staples uncoated 96-brightness paper actually gives better slightly better results. This paper is going back because it doesn't live up to its jam-free guarantee in my laser printer.
