    Not great for tough weedsWe used these bags to weed the overgrown yard at our new house. The weeds are well grown in and some have very thick, tough stems. The bags would often puncture and one even busted open. I thought these were outdoor bags but I guess I misunderstood. They are probably just good for soft lawn debris. Going forward I will try the 3 mil contractor bags from another brand. 2LAWN & LEAF BAGS AT A REASONABLE PRICE!I needed a really strong bag for holding weeds & grass that had grown almost 4 foot high. I was unable to tend to my yard & with a wet spring growing just got away from me. After 3 days of cutting I ended up with several piles of grass, weeds, sticks, and dirty roots. We are required to recycle our yard waste, but the bags required to be used are paper & do not hold together. These Hefty extra strong bags are perfect. They are strong, do not allow for sticks to poke through the plastic & the tie can be tied in such a way that one is able to wrap the tails around the bag top to guarantee a firm hold keeping the bag tied & not breaking open. What's really nice, is this is a extra large box & the price was great for a lower income budget. I'd recommend this product to help retain any leaf/lawn products that need to be removed. 5So far so good...People forget, years back, we had paper or plastic for this purpose. The paper would soak thru and was useless, with too many failing. Plastic in those days was not reinforced with resin or steel so it failed too, leaving many a person to have to clean up the muck. Now we have these bags and I'm happy to declare they hold what they're supposed to and never fail. I hate to say never, but so far after years and years... 5Best lawn bags out there...........As fall approached, I purchased a couple of these 39 gallon bags which fit my large containers to allow me to gather the endless leaves. Hefty, is in my opinion, the best bags out there and these are no exception. I have never had one break or not tie together. The ability for these bags to be tied without needing those wire ties other lesser brands use makes these a pleasure to use. Great for cleaning projects too! I use these everywhere I need a strong large bag to remove heavy waste. I have used them to cover chairs and other items, too. Reliable, strong, 39 gallon bags! 5These are NOT Lawn and Leaf bags, they are SCENTED TRASH CAN LINERS.Hefty's Lawn and Leaf bags have red drawstring handles, and are NOT scented. But it appears Hefty has decided to package their HORRIBLY SCENTED Trashcan Liners with blue drawstring handles in the boxes they used to use for Lawn and Leaf bags. We had bought a box locally and had the same problem, so I ordered these on Amazon, because in the very first line of the description it shows "unscented". But these ARE SCENTED. Maybe Hefty is now scenting all their bags? I can't stand the stink of these things, so I returned them. No more Hefty bags for me. I can't trust they won't be putrid. 1Loyal customerI have used Hefty bags for a long time now and I have never been disappointed. They are my go-to bags for lawn or heavy use trash bags. I've never had any problem with them and I'm glad they are available on prime - saves me time and money. Always loyal to Hefty! 5This product needs to be recalled.I don t write many reviews, but had to for this one. I figured I had the runt of the litter, but after reading these reviews, it s pretty obvious that there is a defect going on during production. One side of the draw string works, and the other side is glued, or melted to the bag, rendering the drawstring useless. When you pull on it, it tears the bag. At first I figured it would only be one or two of them, since in the past, I have had a few bad draw strings, but now I am almost done with the box and every one of the, have been bad. 1smell bad and rip easily.these came scented and i had to keep the box in the garage.i used them with Rubbermaid Commercial Products Slim Jim Trash Can Waste Receptacle with Venting Channels, 23 Gallons, Gray (FG354060GRAY) [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013CM0KW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1] and almost everyone tore and leaked and had to be double bagged before i icould put it in the trash bin.i would not recommend these. 2Almost PerfectI use this as a trash can liner for a large trash barrel. It can hold quite a bit of weight and even resists some sharp objects, like broken glass. Were it not for the cheap draw strings I'd give it 5 stars. The draw strings will snap easily even when cinching up a simple knot. 4Strong enough for sticks!It s that time of year again! The dreaded return of the leaves....luckily I found the Hefty Strong garbage bags to assist me in what used to be the never ending line of kitchen garabage bags full of leaves.These bags take what used to be at least 5 garabage bags of leaves into 1 super strong bag that will endure the occasional stick that finds its way into my bag. I don t have to worry about it ripping the bag! Truly a life saver!The bag opening is large enough so I can dump my leaf mulched bag right into the bag with ease. I don t have to worry about dumping part of the bag onto the ground since the opening is nice and large. 5
