Could not find this or similar at Lowe's or Home Depot. 4The door knocker looks nice enough, but it was a real plain to ...Well, I wasn't as impressed as I had hoped to be. The door knocker looks nice enough, but it was a real plain to get mounted correctly. I'm a pretty handy guy, but this thing tried my patience. The manufacturer really needs to include a template with the holes clearly marked. This would cost about a nickel, but would make this thing MUCH easier to install correctly. But now that it's mounted, and my frustration has subsided, I'm happier with it. As long as the finish holds up over time, I'll be happy. But I can't give a hearty recommendation. 3Very Nice KnockersThe one I received was nicely finished and moderately heavy. The view out of the viewer is wide and clear. I installed this to replace the previous knocker which lacked the peephole.A couple of tips: a step-type drill bit is very handy, especially if installing in a steel door. It will allow you to jump in incremental sizes without denting the door to pieces. Also, if you have a steel door, have a vacuum handy, as there will likely be bits of Styrofoam thrown everywhere. 5needs improvmentas other reviewers stated "no template" but still not difficult to install. always measure twice and cut/drill once!also, I would have liked a wider peep angle 4Works great, but If I hadn't been doing this type ...Peep hole and knocker = 4 stars. Don't buy. 1Nice Door KnockerStill no stencil but after measuring the distance from the top hole, the peep hole center is 2 7/16 inches down and the bottom is 4 1/4 inches down. The top an bottom holes go through the door and have a tube which requires a 3/16 inch diameter hole each. The peep hole requires a 1/2 inch diameter hole. Double check for your knocker.
