Customer Reviews

Hard to put together.I can barely, barely give this desk 3 stars. First If you have not put a lot of DIY stuff together then DO NOT buy this desk. I have a full work shop so I have lots tools and know how.Cons*The directions are hard to understand , no words just small print pic's. Even then some of the directions are missing on how to put things together. Like how to fasten the top of the desk to the bottom shelves.* Missed drilled holes so one shelf could not be put in until re drilled. (also make sure your tower will fit. Leaving out that shelf will let us fit a gaming computer later on)*The hardware for this desk is poor. We had to tweak almost every drawer or pull out shelf. Only one fit with out issue.*The wrench that comes with the parts I can bend with one finger. I suggest not to use any of the tools they provide*The desk came almost undamaged... almost. there were at least 5 chips in different parts. It also was easy to damage just building it.*It will take you (going slow to figure things out) around 3 hours to put this together if you know what your doing.*Be warned in most cases this desk seems to ship in two boxes. I had to wait 3 days to get the second box.*Most DIY have well marked drill spots. This will have very very small indentations on black that we had to use side lighting to even find them.Pro's* If you can get it put together at all it's sturdy enoughMy suggestion is not to buy this. I will not buy from this company ever again.3Must have patience! It showed up in 2 boxes, which isn't a big deal, but surprised me. Luckily, they came the same day, or I would have thought that we were missing half the desk. There are A LOT of pieces. You'll definitely need plenty of space and time to put it all together. A second pair of hands can be a huge help.Quite a few of the parts were mis-labeled, so we had to decifer the little bitty parts pictures to figure out what parts were the right ones. Luckily, I've put together quite a few pieces of furniture before, which made it easier to figure out. We were missing some of the hardware, and some of it was broken, but we were able to improvise.I would recommend using a real screwdriver. The little one provided is very cheap and falls apart easily. The assembly took forever! I've never had a piece of furniture take as long to put together as this one. Ours had all the pre drilled holes, but some of them were a very tight fit, so you may have to man handle them a bit to get it to go together. Parts of the instructions were very clear and simple, but other parts were so vague that we just had to figure it out ourselves. After the nightmare of putting it together, it looked just like the picture. It's a bit smaller than we thought, but it's OK. The drawers are tiny, so don't plan on putting very much in there. We ended up having to take the shelf above the computer tower slot out because our tower was about 1/4 inch too tall to fit in it.Honestly, I hated this desk by the time we finished putting it together, but my son loves it and we bought it for him, so that's why it got 3 stars instead of one. Just be prepared to have a lot of time, room, and patience to put it together.3Don't buy this desk!I bought the desk & have had it a few months. The company was great about replacing the missing & broken parts. but after a few months ofse.... the balls fell out of the ball bearing case that keeps the keyboard in place! so now the keyboard falls every time I slide it out to use. at this point there is no thought of sending the darn thing back. But it is truly a piece of garbage. It took me forever to get it together since I did it on my own. I would not recommend this desk to anyone. It fits nicely in my room but it is impracticable for use since I have to keep the keyboard tray on my lap when typing.1Perfect. Fyi it's not white, it's light lavender Its just like the picture! I love it. It does take time to put it together, but then again what furniture doesn't? Is not huge, butbitnis awesome for smaller areas. One thing though, it is not white! Unless that's a new shade of white that I have never seen before. Its like a very light lavender or something. The actual color does not bug me, what bugs me is the company listing it under white. Otherwise, I am very happy. Its a regular desk not a board room business table The material looks normal to me not cheap as some reviewers have said. Those negative reviews made me not even want to open the box when it came, but I am glad I did 5Seriously! Save your money!Seriously! Save your money! The instructions were unclear to say the least. The surface finish arrived with scratches and smudged/faded coloring in spots, and the edges are chipped in spots as well as missing a trim piece in one spot. The hole placement on the back panel is so close to one edge that there is no way to attach the two sections without cracking the surface on one side. We were not expecting a miracle for a lower price but some level of quality control was expected.1I do not recommend this deskI do not recommend this desk. Cheap materials and horrible instructions. Yes, with a little imagination and Time you can figure things out, but be certain you have plenty of time and patience before tackling this project. Many of the pieces were damaged, but to be expected with cheap material. It does look nice when put together, which earned it one star for appearing nice.1You get what you paid forOverall the desk works, it's sturdy and it works for my home office. However, the instructions were not clear...to be honest they sucked. Had to look online for videos and better instructions, some parts were missing so my desk is not 100%. But it's 98% set up. The package didn't show signs of damage, but when I opened the box noticed it was damaged on the corner. Luckily it was the back-end corner, I can hide it. But it seems I'm not the first person to complain about that, would think they would address that.3Don't put it together with your significant other unless you hardly ever fight! Awful to put together. The directions were so hard to read, the pieces weren't numbers correctly, took me and the S.O. 3 days to put together (we would get so frustrated we would need a day break). We still can't get the keyboard on. I asked for help with the customer service. They sent me new instructions but there were still wrong and hard to read. I still have no idea how to attach the keyboard. I picked this desk for the keyboard tray and there's no way for me to even use it. I broke some of the plastic covers because I misunderstood where to place them then snapped them when trying to remove them from the holes. Very dissatisfied. The only reason I even got the desk up was that I found a YouTube video with step by step instructions on a similar design desk. It at least gave me some hints to figure it out.Update - I've never been able to get the keyboard tray to work. 1Sending backI am not going to try and figure out the pieces that need to go where. Nothing was labeled correctly. The instructions weren't in the box had to download them from their website. When i say every piece was mislabeled i am not kidding. refer to pictures i posted. This will show you the mislabeled pieces. They all seem to be mislabeled as well. The frustration wouldn't be worth it. I will definitely not recommend this desk to anyone. This is just laziness on the side of the people who manufacture this desk.Update on my comment. If you plan on shipping this back it will cost you roughly a bit more than the desk was bought for. I work for Southwest Airlines and with my fedex discount it was coming to just $10 shy the total cost of the desk to send back. So now i am stuck with a piece of junk in 2 seperate boxes. At least i know i won't be cold this winter. Lots fuel for fire.1You probably want to steer clear of this deskTop of the desk had minor damaged upon arrival which was not a big deal. The significant problem was that there were no assembly directions. After contacting customer service (they were very responsive) I received the product assembly and parts list manual. The problem was the none of the markings on the parts corresponded to the designations on the parts list. Fortunately I was able to correlate the parts using the assembly diagrams. It cost me at least an extra hour in assembly, but I did get it done. Based on my experience I can't in good conscience recommend this desk to anyone else.2The Caveat Emptor Computer DeskI had high hopes for this computer desk as the picture looked really great. I kept those hopes while opening the boxes (there are two of them, but you don't know that before hand). Then I saw the assembly instructions! I gave them a minus 1 rating for the following reasons:1. The part list is in very small type with tiny pictures that show all of the different pieces looking about the same size, Wrong!2. The assembly instructions leave a lot to be desired... for example, they show the drawer sliders as N1 and N2, but the slides come already put together so you cannot tell what is N1 and what is N2. The intent (after spending 30 minutes) trying to figure this out) is that you have to take the assemble apart, using a pliers to bend out the end flap so you can slide the pieces apart.3. Once you have the pieces apart, you still do not know which is which, because (you guessed it!) they are not marked. The only way to tell is by putting each piece alongside the drawer piece and noticing that the wider slide does not fit on the drawer piece.4.Now the instruction tell you to put the N2 piece onto the iron piece that is screwed to the bottom of the top piece. Again, the pictures are so small, you cannot see which end goes to the front of the top and which goes to the back. If you are not familiar with how a drawer glide works, you will probably put the piece on backwards!5. Rather than describing each piece, the instructions only give you each pieces' number (connect No. 5 with No.7 and No. 8 board, etc). This would be okay IF whoever packaged the pieces, took enough time to be sure that the stickers actually stuck to each piece, and did not get scraped off during packaging. I had 5 pieces that either had no sticker or the sticker was partially scrapped off so I could not determine what the number was.I could go on with the rest of the problems, but suffice it to say that it is more of the same...small pictures that are not clear; not telling you which end goes to the front and which goes to the back; and the like.6. The raised platform on the right side of the desktop is supposed to be used for a printer. Good luck with that! My HP envy printer balanced so precariously on the platform that I had to remove it for fear it would fall on the floor. I now use the platform for my paper clip and pen containers. If you are looking to have a computer desk with a large work area...this is NOT the desk for you! The top is small and the knee area is tight...just wide enough for you to fit a keyboard in between the two sides. The two drawers are small, so you would only be able to put some small items in them such as stapler, paper clips; pens, etc. It would probably be suitable for a student's work area.3Don't waste your time. Look for something else. This desk is awful. Find something else! I hated it so much, that I ended up selling it for less than half price on CraigsList. My major problem with it is that it's too narrow. Your knees will hit up against the inner sides of the desk and you won't be able to push your chair in. Also, don't even expect to fit a keyboard and mouse on the tray if your right handed. Ergonomically, the keyboard has to be positioned off center, meaning you will not have room for a mouse on the right side.Putting it together was a major pain. It takes about 3 hours. The instructions are not the best. Also, I had one piece that was missing four holes. I had to drill them myself.Lastly, the top came slightly damaged from the shipping. It was such a horrible experience, this is the first review I've ever written on Amazon, and I've been using the site for at least 14 years! 1Cheap desk bad quality bad instructionsOne if the back board came with the wrong length didn t match the holes and didn t fit at all. Had to saw one of the ends to make it fit.Instructions are really bad very bad. I am very knowable reading blueprints and believe me when i say they are bad.Quality desk is cheap I guess you have what you pay2Cute but a little frustrating I think the desk is as cute and modern as the picture. But I do also agree it s a bit of a pain to put together. I recommend having a buddy to help. I did it by myself and it was a challenge even though i ve put together a lot of home furniture. The pictures aren t very detailed but if you stare at them long enough you can figure out where and how everything goes together. The biggest problem for me was the drawers didn t include pre drilled holes for the screws to attach the sliders. I still haven t been able to borrow a drill from a friend to gets those on. The desk is also slightly smaller than I was expecting. There isn t a lot of leg room. But it works and I like the different levels and the big storage cubby on the right. I have some very tall books that fit perfect. (I just have a laptop so don t need the computer in there.) If it was easier to put together, I could have given more stars. Because I do really like the look of it, I didn t give it lower stars. 3Very nice but time consuming to put together, but worth the money. Very nice but time consuming to put together, but worth the money. I love the desk. I homeschool my kids so I needed a desk for each of them as well as one for me. The price was just right for each. Didn't break the bank. The color is suppose to be white but there is a shade of purple. Not too much purple. 5
