Sturdy, heavy should hold my fat friends fine.Look nice. 5Beware colour is not what it appears Colour was not at all like the photos. Chairs are red rather than brown. Sturdy but a complete mismatch with table & cabinets 2Don't buy these chairs I was shorted 8 long bolts, so I cannot even put the chairs together. There is no way to contact anyone, in order to get the bolts that I need. Also, there were two other lengths of shorter bolts, but they were not marked as to which size to use to attach the seat to the back. I selected the wrong one, and busted through the back of the chair!!! I finally went to Home Depot and was able to find the long bolts (size 6 metric), but they were too long. So I bought a washer and a nut, to get them to the right length. DON'T BUY THESE CHAIRS!!! 1Assembly was pretty easy on the first one and a breeze on ... Bought these from a return wholesaler for significantly less than suggested retail. The open box had me worried, the usual foam packing and as I unpacked each piece I was astounded to find there are two chairs in the box that clearly says CHAIR not CHAIRS. BONUS. Mine are in a dark color, I guess kind of a black. I was also surprised that all parts were in the box including all the screws. Assembly was pretty easy on the first one and a breeze on the second. I'd recommend you not put the wood screws in until the chair is completely assembled as it kind of ties the whole chair together. Assembled with a lot more screws than I expected. I'm well over 200 and no creaking when I sit on it. I think the price is good. Notice you really aren't told what wood these are made from. They just say "Hard wood". 4Nice additions to my dinette set Matched my Home Style 5180-308 Arts and Crafts 5-Piece Round Dining Table Set, Cottage Oak Finish dinette set perfectly. 5Solid Chairs, Excellent Value, Well Packaged These are very well built, solid hardwood chairs. Each seat corner is bolted to the legs or frame using two bolts into metal fittings, with washers and lock washers. The seat is also bolted to the chair back with three additional bolts, eleven bolts in all. Once assembled chair is rock solid.A 4mm hex wrench is included, assembly is faster if you have a 4mm hex socket and socket wrench.I would recommend one change to the instructions. Instead of screwing the two side stretchers that run between the front and rear legs before assembling the seat to the back, just insert the stretchers into the legs, and only add the screws after the chair is completely assembled and all bolts tightened. The dowels on either end of the stretchers will keep them in place while the chair is assembled.As the instructions indicate, only hand tighten all the bolts initially, that makes it a lot easier to align the seat to the chair back. On my two chairs everything lined up perfectly, another indication that it was well designed. Note that the bolts come in three sizes, don t mix them up!Finish is cottage oak ,although it s lighter than the cottage oak finish on the Home Styles desk also finished in cottage oak , I would consider this more of a honey oak finish, and the hardwood used is definitely not oak.Chairs were very well packaged, not a single scratch or mark on either chair. Instructions are just ok, not great, pay attention to the different bolt lengths used: front legs-four regular length; rear legs four long-length; seat-to-back three short-length.I consider these chairs to be an excellent value because I got them in a warehouse deal, less than half the usual price, and the package I received was brand-new, never opened, packed perfectly. 4
