They are sharp hold their edge and can be used on small wire.5Indispensable. A must have.If you do any sort of electrical work, this tool is a must have. I work on low voltage security and fire alarm systems and this is indispensable. Not only is it great for smaller 22 to 18 gauge wire, it's also great for stripping off cable sheathing without nicking the wire insulation inside. They also cleanly cut thin cable, and easily cut the nylon rip cord and foil shield used in lots of low-voltage cable. Excellent for 22/2 and 22/4 solid and stranded one and alarm wire. I don't use the wire gauge wheel, after a little practice, you know just how much pressure is needed to cut the insulation enough that it strips off. I've only had to replace mine because I left them behind somewhere. I've always found Ideal tools to be exceptional.5
