Love these!! I love these tables so much. I wanted solid wood, a modern shape (these have a classy tapered leg at the bottom and slanted top edge), and not a million dollars. These fit the bill! They're actually a lot heavier than I expected - really sturdy. We're keeping them unfinished at the moment, but I'm looking forward to staining them soon. Everything was packaged really well, the instructions were decent, and they're pretty quick to put together if you have a drill. Thanks to a very long week, I still managed to do both incorrectly but it was easy to take the pieces apart again and fix it. 100% recommend. 5Great Quality, easy assembly! I expected the wood to be pine, but it s more like oak in grain and weight. Very sturdy piece. Be sure to install the rear panel before screwing the second side in place. I added a little wood glue to the joints for added stability, but that s not really necessary. I plan on finishing with two coats of polyurerhane. The nightstand even comes with felt pads on the feet! 5Very nice Easy to put together. I stained it gray and it looks great. There are a few cracks in the wood and that s why I took a star off. 4TAKES STAIN EASILY!! This set (when I say set I will also be purchasing the long dresser) is beautiful!! I was worried that since this was rubberwood, it would maybe not take stain as well as another wood like pine, oak or birch. I was so wrong!! This piece took the stain BEAUTIFULLY!! It matches the headboard and footboard I made exactly! (Different room, different lighting). Jacobean minwax with the gray rubbed on when almost fully dry. It made the weathered look I was looking for. The piece itself was well packaged, easy to put together, and made to last. I may change out the bottom of the drawer at some point to 1/4" ply, but other than that, phenominal for the price!!!!! 5and easy to assemble The side table is solid wood, well made, and easy to assemble. The only reason I am not giving it a higher rating it that our package was missing some of the hardware (screws, knob, system to mount to wall). Luckily we had some screws, we will just replace the knob, and we were not planning on mounting it. However the biggest issue I have is I really wanted to buy the dresser, a much larger piece and I am completely hesitant to buy it in case it is missing even more important parts! At this point I will look elsewhere for an unfinished dresser. 3Great Buy! I had no problems putting this together. Everything fit like it was supposed to, and I wasn't missing anything. I was worried that it might have issues with parts etc. since it was made in Vietnam. All wood and very good quality. This is the best piece of furniture that I have ever ordered from Amazon (and I've ordered quite a few. Excellent value for the money spent. 5Outstanding value and customizable! I bought two of these nightstands to pair with a new and very expensive solid wood king bed from Room & Board. I wasn't willing to shell out another $900+ for two matching nightstands, so I thought I'd try customizing these unfinished nightstands to approximate the look of the R&B versions. Since these nightstand are 100% solid wood, I had a friend square off the tops with a table saw to create a more modern look, which only took a few minutes. To get the measurements, I first assembled then first disassembled the units; assembly is extremely simple. After disassembling again, I gave the wood a light sanding (it was already sanded, but there's no harm in resending), then I applied Minwax Wood Conditioner prior to staining. I tested a number of stains on the underside of the bottom panel and ended up using Varithane Summer Oak stain, which was absorbed perfectly by the wood when wiping on with a rag.. Rubberwood takes stain nicely, so I could've skipped the wood conditioner step, but it only took a few minutes.After staining, I reassembled the nightstands and began to finish them with Minwax Wipe On Poly Satin. I would highly recommend the wipe on poly for this particular furniture, as it's almost impossible to make a mistake with drips and over application. It takes many thin coats to achieve a nice finish, but each coat only take about 5 minutes to apply when using a rag. I probably did about 5-7 coats in total, letting the poly dry for a couple of hours in between, and using fine sand paper and/or steel wool every couple of coats. Finally, I found modern drawer pulls on Amazon to round out the new look. I am really pleased with the end result... it looks totally professional and matches the bed very nicely.Here are my favorite things about the nightstand: easy assembly, solid construction, pre-sanded, generally consistent wood grain, easy to stain, and customizable.The only area of improvement I can suggest is a soft-closing drawer be offered as an option, since the drawer makes a loud bang if closed quickly. Other than that, this nightstand is awesome! 5Very sturdy Easy to assemble, took maybe 20 minutes while watching TV, looks very nice. Pieces fit together nicely. Feels solid. 5Five Stars Beautiful!! This is a solid piece of furniture. It was easy to assemble and love the final look. 5Parts don't quite fit together The slots in the sides, bottom and top at the back don't line up so that you can insert the back panel. You have to either widen part of a slot or two with a router or rig a solid piece of plywood or something to glue & screw into the back. Other than that it would be OK -- it's fairly solid. 2
