Sturdy - Looks great - easy to personalize These nightstands are super. Very sturdy. I am building a retirement house in another state and needed some inexpensive furniture until I retire in a few years. I meant to order 2 night stands but ordered 4 by mistake, which turned out well. They are easy to personalize - I used spray poly on one and will paint another. I used left over construction items to personalize - glass tile, marble squares, etc for the tops, and leftover drawer pulls. Easy to assemble, but an electric screwdriver is helpful. If you make a mistake in assembling, it is easy to undo and correct. 5Recommend ! :) I bought 2 of these about a week and a half ago for nightstands in my master bedroom. I stained and painted them and they turned out amazing. I have been looking for a real wood piece of furniture for forever it seems like. It's so hard to find real wood sturdy furniture now a days... it unfortunate. I found these and went for it and I am glad I did :)! I'm planning on buying the dresser and staining and painting that as well. These are awesome nightstands. If I had a complaint ... which I don't really.. it would be that one of the drawers didn't quit line up but it's not noticeable and it still slides perfectly fine. Despite that they are awesome !!! 5Easy and solid. Put it together in 45 min. Easy peasy. Picture without knobs as I plan to finish it and purchase new knobs to customize.Will follow up. 5Solid! Arrived ready to refinish! Solid hardwood construction. I did remove the hardware and paint it before assembly careful to sort parts and hardware. Went back together without problems. I recommend using wood glue on the dowels. It should last forever. Can tip if climbed on or all drawers full and open but we don't have kids. Came with anti-tip kit. 5Easy to assemble and sturdy Easy to assemble and sturdy. A little stain and finish and I have a better quality nightstand than most costing half again or twice as much. 5Beautiful. Solid. Bargain! Customizable! This is very well constructed and the majority is solid wood. The wood is smooth and without any defects. I do wish the drawer bottoms were more solid and durable, though I haven't used it yet so maybe and hopefully won't be an issue. This is a very nice piece of furniture for the price. The only other downfall is THE DIRECTIONS ARE HORRIBLE! I've included pictures to show what it should look like once assembled. In one of the assembly photos it shows the wheels direction incorrectly. I haven't decided how I want to stain it yet, but it looks nice as is, but would need some poly. 5Very Impressed My husband and I are reviewing two pieces of International Concepts furniture. Models BD-8003 (Brooklyn 3 drawer chest) and BD-8013 (Brooklyn 3 drawer nightstand), both unfinished. They arrived with no damage and all pieces accounted for. We were very impressed with the quality and look of the wood. Everything is real Parawood (look it up) except for the back panels, drawer frames and bottoms which are laminated plywood. Assembly went very well and amazingly square (I used a framing square to check everything). All holes are pre-drilled except for the chest where the drawer bottom brace gets screwed into the front and back pieces and where the back brace piece screws into the sides. I pre-drilled them myself to keep from splitting the plywood and we would advise anyone else to do the same. We would also suggest that you check square on everything before completely tightening the bolts and screws. The ONLY problem we ran into is the brace in the back center of the chest (see the picture). The dowel pin holes were drilled with the wrong spacing on both sides, or the holes were wrong on both ends of the brace piece. This piece also gets a screw in each end so I merely removed the dowel pins and proceeded with the assembly. I called the phone number listed in the instructions to ask about this problem and found out that they will only send missing hardware and that a wood problem would require returning the cabinet for exchange or refund. That was very disappointing. All-in-all, we would strongly recommend these furniture pieces to anyone interested. 5high quality hardwood furniture Excellent quality. No particle board or press-board. Even drawer bottoms are thin plywood. Made with hardwood from latex rubber trees cut down after production slows so ecologically fine. Finishing requires reading a bit due to residual latex in wood. Seems to take oil finishes well. Poly badly and to stain requires preliminary work, not just wipe on wipe off. Overall, a high quality piece of hardwood furniture with a grain like white oak for particle board furniture price. 5perfect choice for paint-it-yourself This thing is solidly built and well designed, and easy to assemble with mostly very good instructions (sole issue: wheels on side rails belong in the front, not the back, or you won't be able to install the drawers, and this is not mentioned - correcting just meant unscrewing the sides from the drawers, fortunately). You can remove the drawers after assembly by tipping them up and then lifting at the end, btw.Getting this meant I could add a power strip by cutting a rectangular hole near the back of the top and a round hole in the top of the back, without worrying about wrecking the finish, then paint it a fun color. Didn't even sand before priming, and it looks great!The only other problem we had is that we had to cut down the screws of the decorative knobs we got, and we think that's because of the way the fronts of the drawers are designed. 5Better than the one in IKEA Had a horrible experience with an IKEA nightstand I bought as it had no actual support on keeping the whole stand together firmly. This nightstand on the other hand came with parts like the side already screwed in for you. The instructions were clear and the whole putting it together takes less than 15 minutes. Overall, I was very happy with this purchase and bought a second one that works just as well. 5
