    thin material- not meant for pets I bought the sofa cover- it fits and looks as described, but it is most certainly not for pets. I have 2 dogs and 4 cats. The nails rip right through it. we had to tap the tears to where it ended up being more tap and less plastic cover. Also, standard clear packing tap is stronger than this plastic cover. My cats never touched the sofa, they hide because of the dogs. so with just 2 small dogs (less than 40lb each who have their nails trimmed regularly) this cover was ripped to shreds in a matter of 6wks. 3Keeps couch protected from the cats I have 2 cats and my roommate has a cat as well. The cohabitation of the kitties has led to somewhat of a peeing war. They ruined our old couch so when we decided to buy a new one, i decided to be proactive and order a protective cover. This cover works for 2 reasons: reason one is that the cats actually dont even want to go near the damn couch now. if reason one wasnt sufficient enough, we have reason two: its super waterproof! The cover has been on the couch now for 2 weeks and no pee! The cover fits on our overstuffed sofa with enough give to sit on it, and if we have people over its easy to slip off and stash in the linen closet. If it wears out or the cats decide to use it as a scratching post we will have to order another. But for now I am totally satisfied with it! 4I bought four covers and I am pretty happy with them I bought four covers and I am pretty happy with them, good thickness of the plastic. We bought them to protect our couch, loveseat, chair and ottoman from our psycho cat who pees on anything that she deems "hers". We cover everything up when we are at work or sleeping, and so far the covers keep cats totally off. The chair cover did not cover our oversized chair, but it covered the ottoman perfectly so we just got another loveseat cover. I just adopted a cat that is a big scratcher, and I'd like to make some adjustments around my house rather than get her declawed. This cover was the best quality for the price. It's a nice weight and seems very well constructed. This "loveseat" size one was actually the perfect fit for my medium-sized couch, so be sure to check the dimensions they provide in the description. 5Our couches are both lazy boys and They fit them fine with room to spare I have a cat that has suddenly taken a liking to peeing on my couch. We have taken him to the vet and he came back clear so there is no medical reasons. He is just a jerk. :-/ Anyways, we bought these to put over our couches when we are not there to watch them. Sofar they have held up to my dog and cats jumping up on them and us setting on them for brief periods. I won't say these are the prettiest or most comfortable covers or I wouldn't keep them on when we have guest, but the serve the purpose. I also don't think they will last forever and I am hoping to find another solution before these wear out as plastic is horrible for the environment. All and all I would recommend these for a temporary solution to a problem. 4Solved a problem that no one else could I have 2 dogs that defy me about staying off my new beige sofa. They also lift their legs/pee on furniture. I wanted a slipcover that allowed me to still see my sofa while protecting it. This is the only one I could find online.The thickness/feel reminds of those clear zipped packages you will sometimes get your blankets in. I have one that a mattress pad came in. Wish it was thicker but it's reasonably thick. We don't use this living room sofa a lot so I think it will last me a while. The price was very reasonable so I wouldn't mind having to replace it down the road. It is a much better solution than the mess of things I had on the sofa to protect it before.Delivery by QCI Direct took exactly 7 days. Reasonable too!Note: I posted pics. 4Not Fitted. Ripped within 2 weeks. If you could fill this cover with air, it would create a rectangular box with a tilted roof. The shape does not resemble a chair. Because of this, the only use it is good for is a dust cover.The selling point for me was that they advertised it as protection against animal wear and tear. They even had a photo in the product description with a cat sitting on top of the chair with the plastic on it (obviously photoshopped, but it suggesed it was possible). If your cat or dog were to do this, the weight on the plastic in the center of your couch would cause the plastic being held up by the arms to sag, but the unfitted plastic is not shaped for this so the skirt around the feet of the couch comes up to expose the couch to the animal who will later mark it, scratch it, or rub dander on it. The poor fit makes the ability for it to be sold as protection against animals a stretch of the imagination at best. Especially considering how the overehelming majority of humans are likely to be the one sitting on your couch with the cover on it anyway. You will be sabotaged by anyone or anything sitting on this couch.I spent too much money on this to toss it, but as it is ripped from using it as intended but as General wear and tear it is unlikely a return is possible.Don't waste your money. Buy painters tarp and create your own. 1Protects Couch from Cat Pee Works exactly as you'd expect. A bit of a pain to routinely put on and off, but we keep it on our couch because our last couch was ruined by our cat with anxiety issues who peed on it (yes, we still love her), and we bought a new expensive couch and wanted to keep this one dry.About 5x a week I'll pull the cover off and put it back on. I can now put it on with only having to walk to each side 1 or 2 times. When not in use I just toss it aside on the floor. Another reviewer said it would be helpful to mark the top two corners with different colors so it's more apparent how it should be put on. I always take it off a specific way so I know which side is which when I put it back on, so I haven't marked the corners on mine, but agree it would be helpful. Sometimes I just sit on it and it of course makes a lot of crinkling sounds but I soon forget it's there (although I can see how many people wouldn't).So far I've bought 6 of these. Two "ruined" because they were peed on (I didn't feel like trying to wipe down the whole thing and trust I got the entire smell out, when in the meantime it may attract her back to it), one because it got a tear in the top corner and my other cat decided she loved chewing on the plastic edge which wasn't good for her. I have the one that's currently on it, and I have 2 spares so I can replace it as soon as there's an incident. My cat's claws do make little punctures when they're jumping on it or climbing up, so any time it's peed on it's possible for it to go through, but it would be very small; the plastic is pretty thick. This is another reason why I threw out the ones that were peed on, I wasn't sure how much of the inside I'd have to clean from anything that may have leaked through the punctures. My cats completely avoided the couch when I first put it on, but about 3 months later they began jumping up on it again. 5Protects furniture from dogs and dirt I have three dogs and have tried everything to keep them off the sofa, from piling chairs and large objects to lifting up the cushions but they managed to get around it all. I bought three of these covers, one for each portion of my sectional (a love seat cover for the chaise lounge because there isn't one specifically for that piece). The vinyl is not too thick but they've been on for three weeks and so far so good, even my German Shepherd's long nails have not punctured it. They do slip around a bit and need to be readjusted often with three dogs getting off and on, but to me that's a small price to pay compared to having my living room look like a junkyard with stuff piled up on the sofa. I wouldn't leave them on for company, but they're easy enough to slip on and off. Since they're made to fit a wide variety of styles, you may or may not get a snug fit. And if your piece is exactly the measurement given for the cover, go one size up. One side of my sectional is exactly 96" and the 96" cover was too tight and I didn't want to force it and possibly tear it. Overall it's a good value and I would buy again. 4Very nice quality I purchased this product to protect my furniture from my furkids. The plastic cover reminds me of something you would put over furniture before putting it in storage...It's not pretty and it is not form fitting. I use it for added protection under a traditional couch cover. I pull the plastic back from the arms of the chair so you really can't see the plastic under my fabric cover. I had to do a lot of tucking and folding but overall, it works well for me. The plastic is very thick and durable, and it gives me the added protection I'm looking for without being a total eye sore. Make sure you measure your couch before purchasing. 4
