Customer Reviews

Much more than just a little stick I wasn't sure how I would really use this item, but felt like it would come in handy. I find that never leaves my sewing machine area. I use it to push the thread to the back from under the presser foot, and to do a quick check to make sure I'm at a quarter of an inch, to pull out my flat needles as I'm Sewing, I use it to hold the end of the material as it slides under the pressure foot, so it doesn't bunch up or move. In fact those are just some of the things that I use it for, there are so many more and this little tool is pretty durable considering it feels so lightweight. I love this thing! I think if you're on the fence you should just get it because you will find some use for it for sure. It's not just a stick to push out the corners, it has a little tab on the other hand with a quarter inch marker and then the skinny end is actually turned up a little ways so you can use it as a hook, sort of. Anyhow, it was definitely worth the price. 5It's good to have a little pointer that can get close ... It's good to have a little pointer that can get close to that sewing machine needle instead of your finger. You really don't want to sew your fingertip and that usually results in a fun little trip to the emergency room. So, use this little pointer instead and be able to stay home. Home is where the wine is anyway. It also keeps the seams down so you don't have to wiggle jiggle them down as you come up on them while sewing. As usual, it's no fun to get the seam ripper out because you have a bent over seam in the middle of the line of sewing and no MATTER how much you try to iron that sucker FLAT, it won't go flat enough to make it look nice. So just hold down the seam in the first place with this purple thang and all will be easier. You COULD get a metal pointer that would do the same thing as this purple thang, but....I don't know about YOU but I tend to sew over things sometimes and I have found that it is better to sew over a plastic thang more than a metal thing. Twang goes the needle in the sewing maching....just sayin'. So, ya...buy this. Life will be better. 5THis is a NECCESSITY I think it is a crime that this little purple thang doesn't come with every sewing machine sold. It is so versitile and I am going to buy a couple more so I have one in the tool kit in all my machines. 5Great thingy! I use this thingymabob everytime I sew. Great for beginners (like me) who are not comfortable putting their digits near the business end of their heavy duty sewing machine. Pulls, straightens, turns - much easier with this thingy. I will be buying a few more, because if I lose the one i bought i will be befuddled trying to do what it does with my bare fingers. I would recommend this. 5Handy gadget! I actually forgot I had this little gadget until this week when we were mass producing pillow cases for Ryan s Cases for Smiles (an organization that makes/donates pillow cases to kids battling cancer in the hospital, to brighten their room). While turning them and pushing corners, I thought there s got to be a faster/better/safer way to do this than with a sharp pin and then I spied the Purple Thang standing in my tool holder... right in front, in fact! How have I missed this?? I couldn t believe how much faster it went after using the Purple Thang to push corners. I kept it on my ironing board but am thinking I may run a string through it and wear it after dropping it a few times. We will be having kids help us with this project and it s safe enough to let them use. Probably need to order an extra to have on hand... I d hate to lose it! 5I was looking for stocking stuffers and saw this had good reviews. Soon after getting it I noticed she ... I don't know anything about sewing but my wife is into that kind of stuff. I was looking for stocking stuffers and saw this had good reviews. Soon after getting it I noticed she had it tied on a string around her neck all the time. I asked her if it was good and she said she didn't know how she sewed stuff without it. Then she started rambling off a bunch of sewing terms that she uses it for that I didn't know what they were. So all in all, it must be a good products for people who sew a lot. 5Great tool for sewing and craft projects! I've been using this item for over a decade and its great to have a spare when I can't find the other one which is a usual thing in my sewing room. It has a wide variety of uses, it pulls, straightens, turns not just for sewing either! It helps me in my piecing for a quilt or pulling elastic thru a casing, and applying fiberfill stuffing in plush doll fingers for crafts. I use it to push the thread to the back from under the presser foot, much easier with this thingamajig. Makes a great gift for your sewing friends too!! 5Great tool in our growing arsenal of quilting stuff. I think this is one of sewers best friends. When those corners don't want to go under your sewing foot this holds it down until it does. I have also used the 1/4 inch square to measure my seams. Yes, it's accurate. This little gadget needs to me made of wood. No question about it. I'll use it until I can't. 5Not angry, just disappointed Started shredding plastic into my sewing machine - INTO MY SEWING MACHINE - while I was using it for it's intended purpose - feeding fabric into the presser foot. I WORK as a clothier and seamstress. I'm not an idiot about sewing machines or sewing tools. The internet has been raving about this thing so I bought one to use as a stiletto. Buy a metal sewing stiletto instead. I honestly don't know how this company has not gotten sued for destroying someone's machine. If a standard (Singer) presser foot can shred plastic off of it, I am at a loss as to how there are not many more complaints. I don't shy away from one star reviews when I come across a dishonest item description but this item description is completely honest. It's just a crummy product. If it were metal it would have been a dream tool. Not angry, just disappointed.. 1It's okay, but others make more effective turners I had heard of this many times before, but at the cost for what it was, I always passed. It popped up as an "add-on" one day, so I tossed it into the cart.Overall, it is nice to have, but I have found a flat, white one by a different company to be much more effective and turning curves. While I don't regret the purchase, it would not be the first one I'd recommend to a friend either. 3
