Customer Reviews

Challenging to install. Seem fragile. Expensive. We revamped all the lighting in our home and elected to go with these Lutron switch cover plates. They are attractive, for sure. But they are expensive and fussy. Because we were painting after he electrician did the work I was warned to be very careful when removing the plate as the teeth holding the face to the plate can break off easily. So I was VERY careful when doing so, but could see how one could break the teeth. Unlike plates with visible screws, if you have to make adjustments for level or dept you have to take the face plate off. Without going into more detail, getting the install right for level and depth was more challenging than your typical cover plates. Price? I found the price of these plates to be outrageous and would estimate that it probably costs less than 50 to make them and most other cover plates cost no more than $1-$2. But we pay up for vanity, don't we? That's the look my wife wanted, so I just paid up for them.If you don't mind paying up and don't mind fiddling or paying someone else to install them, buy them by all means. They do look good. Would I go that route again? Probably, only because we sank $3000 into the electrical work so we were already deep into the project financially. Would I change to these plates for the sake of a different look alone? No. 2Sleek, modern look. Installs easily but need to be careful when removing outer cover. These wall plates completely hide the screws, which gives them a sleek modern look. They work beautifully with all of my Lutron Caseta switches and are very easy to install. The design allows you to access the screws for the actual switch box beneath this face plate while you are installing it, so you can adjust their position to line everything up before you tighten everything down. The only tricky thing about this face plate is that it can be challenging to remove the outer cover without breaking it. You just have to be very careful when doing so, working around the edges so you don't bend it too much. 4Looks stunning! These wall plates look beautiful against almost any color wall. The screws are hidden, providing a very clean and modern look for your switches. We pair these with the Lutron Cassetta switches which work great. These work by installing a bracket plate first using screws. You then have a separate 2nd cover that snaps into place. Be sure to snap all sections as it can give the appearance of being uneven, especially in the middle, if not all snaps are secured. You may think you're going to break it when removing the snapped piece, but so far we haven't broken any and we've done quite a few in our house. The only downside is that, depending on your switches, you may need to loosen or tighten the plate or the switch to get them perfectly flush. This takes some time, but after over a dozen switches, I've always gotten it to sit flush. 5Easy to use! Two pieces that make a flush panel. The picture is just the top visual portion, behind it is a piece that you screw onto the switches themselves. With this you attach it to the 2 gang setup, then screw them into place. BUT you need to be sure that you adjust the depth that you screwed them into the wall properly in order to ensure the switches are flush with the top portion that will cover this piece. About a 1/4 inch, give or take, raised from the other surface so when you snap this in place it looks great. If you missed the mark you can CAREFULLY remove hte cover and make the adjustments. 5Wemo Application AWESOME FACE PLATE FOR MY DUAL WEMO INSTALL. This is worth every penny and more they have such a great clean product I am shocked they do not charge more. I would have easily paid 10$ for this. This looks so clean fresh love it and the fact it fits my WeMo application perfectly is a major major plus !!!!!!! 5Why not give your outlets and switches a finished look? I love these things! It should be noted I have tried Leviton's version as well and they do not offer the quality and look these, the Lutron's do.Yes, you are going to spend much more with these than a traditional .20 cent outlet cover but.... why not? They look so cool and really give a nice finished look to your walls especially on a tiled kitchen back splash. Why not spend the little extra and finish of a tiled back splash or a nicely painted wall.... you spend the money on nice tile or similar and a high quality paint then slap a crappy outlet cover up with stripped screws? To me just doesn't seem right, but thats just my opinion. The high gloss to them make a super slick and easy to clean surface. I'm sold! 5it makes for a nice finished look Using this outside in the salt air where the screws of our other light switch cover rusted out. First this is a much neater look and secondly, the small screws are protected from the elements from the snap on cover. When separating the base and the cover, be careful to do so gently. A little nudge at the top and then at the bottom and it will pop off. If you try to get it all from one end or the other, the snaps might break. This is not a default, just something to be aware of. For the price, it makes for a nice finished look. I'm now going to use them on the inside of the house too. 5Clean, neat appearance, easy to install I recommend these Lutron Claro wallplates for use anywhere you have a Decora-style device (switch or receptacle) and want a screwless appearance. This includes Lutron switches and dimmers, as well as other brands (Leviton, for example). The finished appearance, with no screws visible, is elegant: clean and neat.I have used Lutron Claro wallplates, as well as Leviton Decora Plus screwless wallplates, and I prefer the Lutron because they are easier to install. The final appearance is similar, and they both have a two piece design with a base plate that is screwed to the switch, and a finishing plate that snaps in to the base plate. However, mounting the base plate of the Leviton Decora Plus wallplate is more difficult because the base plate is held by the screws that mount the switch in the electrical box, while the Lutron Claro base plate is attached to the device using the screw holes that are used to mount a conventional wallplate. After a recent kitchen remodel, I decided to replace the standard wallplates on the countertop backsplash with screwless ones. Since the switches and receptacles were all Leviton, I bought Leviton Decora Plus wallplates to ensure they would match. It took much longer to install the Decora Plus wallplates, because I had to loosen the mounting screws for the devices and then line everything up, than it has taken me to install Claro wallplates. 5These work Love the screwless look. The Lutron ones snap together to the base in-between the switches. Didn't think much of this till I tried another screwless plate that only snapped to the base on the sides, and on anything but a perfectly flat wall (haven't found one yet) it didn't follow the wall and had a gap. Lutron screwless plates no gap on not so flat walls. Here's pics of the 2g, 3g, and 4g (yes, I know, I need to change out the switches that have yellowed) 5Switch plate cover -- wait, where are the screws? When I purchased this switch plate cover online from Amazon, I didn't realized quite what I was ordering. I assumed I was getting a standard two-outlet cover plate. Once it arrived and I examined it, I found a that I had ordered something just a bit different. This cover does not have any exposed screws. On a normal switch plate cover of this size, you would find four screws. This cover has four screws, but they are covered so that they not visible. This is accomplished by a snap-on outer cover. So the first part of the cover screws down as a normal cover plate would, but then you snap the outer cover on over that. It is a nice idea. The only possible con for this that I see is that the cover is just a bit thicker (or deeper) than a normal cover, as you might expect since it is actually two pieces. For most installations this should not be a problem, but it is something to keep in mind depending on your application. 4
