Customer Reviews

At first it didn't work, then a spun it a bunch to fix itThis worked awesome for the first two weeks or so but then started sporadically shutting off, even if I turned it on and set it down to keep it still (I thought I was jostling something out of place initially)I realize banging it on my palm or the ground wouldn't help but that was tried about a dozen times before I just shelved it, wondering if it was worth trying to get a refund or replacementOut of the blue I decided to pop it apart and see if maybe it need to be tightened but after some trial and error that didn't do much - lastly I just spun the insides in one direction a bunch, reassembled it, and it's worked just fine since then (despite all my previous banging, even)Wish I knew exactly what I manipulated to "fix" it, but it works now and I'm happySo that's my suggestion, folksJust spin the insides in one direction a bunch5Lousy buyI bought a Maglite Mini Pro LED in January, 2017. It quit working in October, 2017. I replaced it with another identical Maglite and that has also quit working. I'll never buy another Maglite LED flashlight. Premium prices for an inferior product.1Surprisingly bright.VERY bright. Puts my older 2-AA LED non-pro mini mag to shame. There is no comparison whatsoever. You really need to see it to believe it. I don't doubt the lumen rating at all. This Pro does however get noticeably warmer than the older non-pro. In just a minute or two of use the lamp end will get quite warm to the touch. I can only imagine what it will feel like after several minutes. I would also imagine the battery life will suffer proportionally. The photos show the LED Pro vs the LED AA.5My Light SaberThis is like a Light Saber, and the best flashlight ever for me.It's not the brightest flashlight out there at 272 lumens. But it might be the brightest for its size. And it's price is so much less than those 700 and higher lumen monster lights.Plus this one doesn't require expensive special batteries like some of the super bright models. It runs on a pair of AA penlights just like any other Mini Maglite. You can't even tell it's special, as opposed to the last 3 decades or so of previous Mini Maglights, until you turn it on. (A real surprise to people who haven't seen one like it yet.)Then it just pumps out the light and slices through the night.Just be sure to get the Pro model, not the regular, not the Pro+. Only the Pro is currently listed at 272 lumens. And don't take your old Mini Maglite and get the LED conversion for it expecting these results. I haven't seen any conversion kit yet with anything like this light output.Try it on a foggy night.5Loyal Mag lit user is not impressed. It s a mini mag I like it for durability and have had one for many years but the LED version is a complete let down.First it eats batteries compared to the older style bulb lights. They should last far longer being LED. Second it flickers non stop even with new batteries and brand does not matter. I looked inside and it is very clean inside no dirt at all.I have to turn the head in and out 2 or 3 times to get it to work normally. When it works I am happy with the amount of light and I love the ability to carry it on my belt.My job is a technical one and that means lots of work in dark areas or protected areas. I absolutely need the flashlight to work as it should or I can t do my job.Unfortunately I may not be a Mag Light fan much longer this has really turned me off. I ve always carried them for the extreme durability and quality. This flashlight fails on the quality due to the inability to stay lit all the time.I have sent in 3 emails with no response to get a warranty claim and am disappointed because ive never needed to do that in the past. My last light is going on 6 years old and I gave it to a younger newer guy at work to help him that s the quality I was expecting.1JUNKWorked great for about a 3 weeks. You have to tap on it to get it to turn on. Once on it stays on for about a minute or so and goes out. Tap on it again and it comes back on. $3.00 light from walmart at least stays on just not as bright. I bought this for work but is not dependable. Back to my $3.00 light1Worst MagLite I have ever ownedThis is my first LED maglite but I've owned around a dozen maglites of various sizes over the years and this is by far the worst. They claim the beam is adjustable but it is not. When you first turn it on you get a wide beam with a very bright center. As you attempt to adjust the beam width all that happens is the bright center just gets dimmer. No part of the beam gets brighter or wider. On top of that the illustration shows the flashlight packaged with 2 Duracell batteries but my shipped with 2 less expensive Energizer batteries.1Hot spots in light beam, flood and spot barely distinguishable.Maglite totally missed out on LED flashlights when they first came out. As such, they seemed to have scrambled to try to get some sort of product out into the market. However, they never had the best reflectors and they still don't.This flashlight does not project light smoothly. I bring this up because even $5 Chinese LED flashlights get this down perfectly. I've bought several cheap Chinese flashlights over the years and they're all worked as well as this and most of them better than this one. There is a hot spot in the middle of the light beam no matter what you set this as. Also, another thing Chinese LED flashlights have the upper hand in is the difference between spot, and flood. Outdoors at 20 yards we're talking literally 50 foot flood to 5 foot spot. This light there's barely any noticeable difference. This flashlight is OKay, just OKay. This is my 4th Mini Maglite and every other one has died. With their $7 plus shipping one way "warranty" they're not worth sending back, especially when you can buy a better one shipped from Hong Kong for $4.88.If anyone from Maglite is reading this you really need to stop resting on your laurels. Engineer this light better. Eliminate the hot spots and bad reflections. Maybe start using 18650 batteries instead (easy to convert to AA). A tailcap switch would be nice too. Yes you're going to lose the "classic" lines but, it would be nice to be impressed by your product someday, instead of being constantly disappointed. Make a product that blows me away.If y'all are wondering why I bought this in the first place, I needed it to fit a specific holder.3maglite failI did some research on this. Most reviews are spectacular on this flashlight but for some reason this vendor doesn't accept returns when there's a failure. my fail occured in less than 2 months. I'm thinking factory seconds, beware!I'm open to other opinions but you better be good :) So right now I'm operating without a flashlight that sometimes is critical to my job and yes, shame on me for not having a backup but I bought a good product that shouldn't fail but it did...Sign me, looking for a better flashlight...1Total junkI have a couple of mini maglites that work flawlessly since day one. I was going through batteries regularly so I bought an LED conversion kit from a third party but converted back hours later. So I bought this LED mini maglite. It rarely works without pounding it on my palm. What a worthless piece of crap and maglite knows it.1
