    Not always a drop in It is not drop in the original was shower only this one is tub /shower plugging the tub no problem but the shower connection is 3/8-1/2 taller than the original was a small pain in behind to shorten the pipe to shower head 5Four Stars Worked great with my Brantford Moen Shower assembly. 4Buy it locally if you can This item was part of a much larger order. All the other bathroom accessories were fine but this was defective and my contractor wasnt able to use it. I wasn t very happy about having to go out and buy this piece again and since I ordered 2 to 3 months before the contractor started the work it was past the time for returning. Not a happy camper. 1Great replacement part for a 15 yr old shower ! Glad to have a replacement valve so I didn't have to get a complete new assembly ! It was a tight fit in the existing opening but the plumber got it installed w/o cutting away much of the tile. Made the opening in the shower a little larger & placed a new larger chrome cover over the opening. Looks great ! 4Five Stars Good quality standard valve at a reasonable price delivered on time. Same one my plumber would recommend 5Quality product Moen product is well built and the standard in the shower valve industry. Cost a little more than others but when you need replacement parts they are readily available. 5Five Stars I saved $$$ by buying a repackaged one that works perfectly. 5Easy enough for a novice to install. This has taken me a long time to review but it took us a long time to get our bathroom updated. Our bathroom was from the 1930s and had only been superficially updated, the plumbing was still from long ago and outdated. My husband and I took the reno on ourselves and neither of us have ever done any renovations before. He has very little plumbing experience, only what he has learned since we bought our home so this was all new to him. I will say that this item looks more intimidating that what it actually is. When my husband finally got to the point where he could no longer avoid putting the diverter in (that is what we have come to call it) he put it in without any issues or problems within maybe 15 minutes to a half hour post all the pipes being run. So it is not difficult to do if a novice can pu this item in. I am very proud of him. Our home is now up to date. There are no leaks. Best of all, I can run water in the kitchen and he doesn't get scaleded anylonger. I would rate this item higher if I could. I definely recommend it. 5well built part the only thing I would recommend for this item is that it seems to work better for a 2x6 wall. I did make it work for a 2x4 wall but I had to get creative on how I mounted it up. 5Even if you order new, You might get used. Not sure what to do. I pulled the Moen box out of the Amazon box, and it's CLEARLY been used, return, and reaold to me at FULL price. Box looks stepped on, and ripped on one side. The valvue was laying in size, haphazardly and is covered in scratches. One screw holding on the black plate is missing, and this white plastic placeholder was just loose in the box. Not sure if I'm disappointed in Moen, or Amazon. But this is happening More and MORE often. I'm so stressed and upset because I can't reorder. The plumber is coming tomorrow morning at 8:00 am. 1
