Customer Reviews

Box O Beer 740ml PET, the bottles are good, have ordered them before. Only complaint is the box they now come in. They are now loosely packed on their sides in a lightweight box. The "old" box, like in the product picture, is a decent weight cardboard and can be used to pack and handle a case of filled bottles while bottle conditioning and transporting.Feb-17, looks like they updated the product picture. 4Not worth the money Plastic bottles hold odor and air releases over time with screw on caps. These bottles always arrived dented, company did replace though. Very lite box for storage if you wanted to use it while beer is going through its stages after bottling. Even after good cleanings they still had left behind order when dried and stored until next usage. I have switched to glass lock-down cork top bottles and everything improved 100%. Stay away from these bottles imo. 1Lightweight bottles easier to store Nice lightweight bottle for brewing your own beer.Wish caps were designed differently, without the safety ring and with ability to remove the seal and replace instead of buying new caps. They claim can reuse them numerous times, doesn't specify, but that would rely on whomever capped or drank them not over tightening them or keeping the caps, so remind consumers to be gentle with the caps and to collect them for you. 5Perfect for new brewer Exactly as described and arrived quickly.Bought these to try with a Mr. Beer kit that I was given as a gift. I have never homebrewed before and really had no idea what I was doing. One of the upgrade suggestions I got for using these particular bottles is to avoid breaking the security band on the caps while santizing them before bottling the beer. It's easy to do and a real upgrade when sharing you beer with someone. People are so tuned into opening bottles like this and hearing/feeling the "snap" of the security band being broken that, when it's not present they inspect the bottle and have a questioning look before drinking it. It's a minor thing, but worth avoiding in order to improve the experience. Replacement caps are really inexpensive for future brews.Be aware that these bottles are 24oz (2 regular/typical sized beers). Also, the bottles are plastic. While I prefer glass, the plastic bottles offer the ability to perform a "squeeze test", a great way for new brewers to ensure good carbonation.I hope to advance to glass bottling in the future. Adding custom labels and filling diy wood caddies with my brews for gift giving. A fun new hobby for me.These totally reuseable plastic bottles should work well for learning the craft better, before I move forward. 5If you're not a first time home brewer, invest in a bottling kit or pick up some swing-tops. Good service and good packaging - however a little expensive for a box full of PET plastic. This is a good idea for someone doing their very first batch of brew who doesn't want to invest in glass bottles or run the risk of making a "carbonation bomb". It's important to note that I do NOT feel these bottles are re-usable for carbonation as after the first use the seals will be broken. The plastic bottles are also sure to upset your beer snob friends. 3Hard to get the caps to seal tightly.... Not all caps will seat properly to allow a tight seal. If they are played around with a bit by screwing them on and off several times and getting the safety seal to break, this helps, and they will seal properly after that. It is a bit frustrating. The safety seals are then stuck on the bottles. Oddly enough, not all the safety seals crack off when the caps are unscrewed the first time. 3Really good bottle, no need to look for anything else Really good bottle, no need to look for anything else, just don't wast money buying the Mr. Beer Deluxe Oxygen Barrier Homebrewing, the pictures are different on the site, but when they arrived on my house they were exactly the same. 5They DO work, but seems that glass bottles should be available for a buck a piece... I'm not too thrilled with these bottles. Seems that, for the price of more than a buck a bottle, one could find better quality glass bottles.I'm not sure they'll last for more than three batches, but to their credit none have burst yet.I have had problems with two of the caps sealing, and whereas this is "only two caps", it represents 16.7% of the batch. They work for the size and the reusability so far, but I'm looking around for something sturdier. 3it looks like you have a bottle that's previously been opened It gets the job done in a minimalist, unremarkable way. These are standard 12oz plastic bottles with plastic caps. Yes, they're reusable, but the problem with the caps is that they have those safety seal things, so when you open them the first time the cap breaks off the ring. And every use after that, it looks like you have a bottle that's previously been opened. Which, I mean technically it has been previously opened...so why use those safety seals at all? 3I like them... These are great bottles that are easy to use and not as heavy as the grolsch style glass ones I was using before. They are also a full pint which is the only size for real beer folks IMO. I am not a fan of Mr Beer brew kits but the bottles are good. 4
