... the vegetable wasn't right on it would sharpen it like a pencil instead of spiraling it
Works ok sometimes but if the vegetable wasn't right on it would sharpen it like a pencil instead of spiraling it. Returned it and got the manual one. Works better.
3Fantastic Spiralizer!
I'd give this a hundred stars if I could. If you buy zucchini noodles at the grocery store, this thing will pay for itself in short order. Follow the instructions, mash the plunger into the zucchini before hitting the button and you're good-to-go. The fettuccine cut is out of this world. Ridiculously easy to clean. HIGHEST recommendation.
5Easy to use. Love it!
This works great! I wish the "spaghetti" blade actually cut finer round noodles instead of ribbons. Spiral sweet potato didn't work very well but carrots did with ease.
5Happy with the Spiralizer
I use this cutter 2 or three times a week to make zucchini nests for breakfast. It's easy to use and easy to clean, I bought a tooth brush to clean the cutting blades. The only advice I have is to make sure the vegetable is firm or the pusher chews up the end of the vegetable causing it to just spins in the machine. This isn't the fault of the Spiralizer.
5Going Green!!
Revised review ...Having used it now for a while i love it and its far better than any of the hand crank versions, the only issue is that cleaning the cutting cones is a bit difficult and even a bit - hate to say it - dangerous. Its hard to get in there and get all the gunk out, and you need to because the dishwasher won't. A good solution would be if the included a cleaning brush to get in there and push the stuff off the blades. Yes blades, sharp like knives... I still recommend this highly but..... Caveot Emptor!Yeah!!!! Perfect for our Paleo... Going GREEN!!!! Going PrimalFunny I love it but my kids hate it! They don't want to eat healthy and this really saves time and effort turning some pretty tasty veggies into food for the whole family!Oh... Easy to clean to!
4Poor design. Does not really work well.
Poor design. The prongs on the end of the plunger are too short and are unable to really hold the vegetable in place, making it impossible to spiralize the entire vegetable. Since the plunger does not go all the way down the chute - it only spiralizes about 2/3rds of the veggie, then looses it's grip and you get a 3" end piece spinning around in the cone where the blade is. There is no way to use that 3" piece because the plunger thing only goes partially down the chute. Seems really silly to design it like that. I don't know what they were thinking. Way too much trouble and waste. I will be returning this one.
2I returned it because it didn't properly spiralize the vegetables ...
I returned it because it didn't properly spiralize the vegetables that I put in it. I suspect that it would work with cucumbers and zucchini, but I wanted to spiralize carrots and potatoes, too.
1Three Stars
Easy to use- easy clean up, but not powerful enough to spiralize vegetables such as sweet potatoes.
3However it's not really intended for hard vegs like butternut squash
It works well. However it's not really intended for hard vegs like butternut squash. But for carrots potatoes, summer squash and zucchini.... it's a blessing
4Not worth the extra money, manual works better
I was disappointed in this product, it had fairly good reviews. The vegetables have to be just right-not too hard ,not too soft. Basically, all you can do are zucchini and cucumbers with the skin on. This was too expensive to be only a one trick pony. I thought it would be great for me since I have limited use of my hands. Another reviewer was right, if you have a manual Spiralizer you should stick with that, at least my husband can turn it for me!
