    Work great for what I neededReorganizing personal home files prompted this purchase. I needed wide hanging files for warranty booklets and paperwork. These work great for holding lots of booklets and I have them filled to capacity. I did tape the cardboard spacer to the slots in the bottom of each of these because they have a tendency to want to slip out. It just took a few extra minutes while setting them up but worth the effort in my opinion.The wire hangers appear to be holding but for how long remains to be seen. I don't anticipate any issues but will update if I have any. Solid. reliable hanging folders from the Pendaflex brand.I purchased these at full price and this is my honest and unbiased review. I base my opinions solely upon my own experiences and share them to assist other customers with their own purchases. 4It's Pendaflex - what's not to love?Pendaflex folders are well-constructed - no glued-down top edges that prevent inserting tabs, as is common in cheaper brands.The 1" hanging folders will hold a number of manila folders, depending on the contents. I plan to buy a package of assorted sizes, as well, to hold fat manila folders. 5These are perfect for my needs.I have always trusted the Pendaflex brand file folders and hanging folders. These are no exception.The squared off bottom allows larger files to fit inside better than they fit inside V bottomed hanging files. My larger file folders slip down inside and do not peek out of the top. This is very important as some of my files 1 1/2 inches thick. These files were sticking at the top of my filing drawers and causing jams. My filing drawers are old and have enough trouble to open and close without needing to adding files jamming in the top of the drawers to the mix.These hanging folders are easy to use and do not have the accordion pleats on the sides that can hang on the edges of files. There is a small piece of thicker paper in the bottom of each hanging folder that helps to keep the bottom of it open so that I can easily drop each file into place. When not in use, or with thinner files, they can be compressed to take up less space in my file drawers without jamming or breaking.The small tab at the top of each allows me to further note which file goes into that folder. This can make it easier for assistants to file correctly. (Whatever they are teaching in school, it is not how to file alphabetically! Add to the mix that some of my files are not filed alphabetically, and that tiny tab is a help to keep my drawers organized.)The hooks fit along the rails and glide effortlessly. 5Not sturdy--not an improvement over older versionsAt the risk of sounding like an old curmudgeon, I'm here to tell you the current line of Pendaflex hanging file folders are not as sturdy or well-made as my previous purchases of this item. While "reinforced" may be in the title of this product, the cardboard materials of these is simply unacceptable as is. The material is too flexible and we've had to modify each and every one of these folders (both 1-inch and 2-inch versions) by affixing a layer of packing tape into the "box" part of the folder to make it sturdy enough. For our next purchase, we're going to try the Smead TUFF versions of these; it's gotta be better than these. 2Definitely extra capacity, but don't work well unless stretched outI bought these to hold manila folders in a lateral file cabinet. When the folders are filled with manila folders and well stretched out, they work really well. However, if you don't stuff them, they stand up in the cabinet and get caught when you try to open the drawer. Use them as an adjunct to regular hanging folders when you want to keep a large collection of folders together, but use the regular hanging folders for smaller collections of files. 4Excellent quality. When I read some off the reviewsExcellent quality. When I read some off the reviews, I was nervous because they said not well made. These are reinforced on the bottom at width, the inserts are of thick cardboard which slide under two tabs to hold in place. I set them up yesterday - heavy books. loose leaf binders and file records. Metal tabs to hold on rack were sturdy. I think these are the same quality you will find in your local office supply store and they will cost more. I believe you will be happy with these folders if you need 2" size. I will order these again if I find I need more. 5So disappointed!!!Do not waste your money. These are complete garbage, they are made so poorly they supply a flimsy piece of cardboardto try and hold the shape. If they are not completely full with files they will not hold there shape. I am so aggravated at how crappy they are. 1Poor quality and not functionalI have been using these types of files for many years in offices and at home. They are indespensable along with regular capacity Pendaflex folders for maintaining files. However, it seems that Pendaflex has recently significantly reduced the quality of the materials used to the point of making them flimsy and not functional. When these folders are loaded the metal bars bow and bend making them hard to handle. The bars are so thin that they act like a knife edge and cut into the file drawer rails instead of sliding along them as is needed. Older Pendaflex folders I have still slide fine along the rails. Also, the paper material of the new folders is considerable thinner than the old folders and I doubt they will last as long as the older, better made folders. I will not buy these folders again and am looking for a studier replacement. 1Pendaflex, what else do I need to say?SO glad I got these hanging file folders. I had a bunch of older, mostly off-brand, folders that needed replacing for various reasons. These are reinforced very well at the top and bottom. Thick material which is smooth (not fuzzy-ish like some products I've purchased). Two-tone so you can see the inside and not inadvertently file papers between the folders instead of in them. They are creased for expanding. You need to press the creases to get them to take shape. The creased area keeps the fold in line. They come with pre-cut cardboard pieces to place in the bottom of the expansion for supporting papers/folders. They hold a LOT of paper (400 sheets, I think it advertised?). It cut down on how many of the 'regular' hanging folders I need, besides replaced the old ones with better quality items. I was able to bundle various paper filings I have and not worry about them busting through the bottom, etc. Great buy and I think the price was right as well. 5These are great if you have about 1These are great if you have about 1.5" thick worth of files per folder to store. They will keep you from over-stuffing your smaller traditional v-shaped file folder that can only safely store about 1/3" worth of files. The bottom brace is thick cardboard (not pictured). It is a bit flimsy in that it moves around a bit. Use the tabs/nubs at either end to ensure it stays relatively centered before you load it up with files. 4
