    Really? forgot to drill a hole for the spigot? Barrel looks good, the engraving looks cool but how can you forget to drill a hole for the spigot?I need the barrel to be ready on next Friday. Now I am not sure what they are going to do. 1Decent gift idea, results pending... Got the 2L size to experiment with a bit. Order arrived in just under two weeks, which isn't bad considering the personalized engraving. Looks great, no engraving errors, nice workmanship. Followed the instructions for water fill, to seal it up - no issues after a day or so. Look at the dimensions before ordering - this might be smaller than you think. If this works well, it would make an excellent gift. I put some cheap Bourbon in mine, and will try to remember to update this review after a couple months.Note - the exterior of this barrel is varnished, not raw wood, which might be important to some. This isn't listed in the description anywhere. May starve the Angels of their share a bit? 4It's cool. I had it engraved w/ my name and ... It's cool. I had it engraved w/ my name and stuff. however to "make" your own barrel aged whiskey it's kind of expensive. You need a natural alcohol and then the enhancer. the alcohol will run anywhere from 15-50 dollars depending on what you buy, and the enhancers are 7-10 dollars. Then there is the time for it to cure in the barrel, honestly it's easier to go to the store and pick out what you want. But it is cool to say you "made" that bottle of whiskey. 4WHAT A GREAT PERSONALIZED GIFT TO GIVE!!! I can't wait till Christmas!! I just received this personalized barrel today and I am thrilled!! It is a Christmas gift for my son who has hisown "man cave", it's perfect. I love that I was able to personalize it for him! It appears to be of very good quality and that it actually holds liquids.....i.e. whiskey!! LOL. It will make for a great entertainment piece for my son and his buddies on game days, poker nights, etc. Also I received it within the time period I was given. Highly recommend as a GREAT gift. I got the 3 liter and it's perfect size to display. 5Buy with caution!!! I bought the barrel in July and it started leaking from the bottom in November. The solution they came up with is use barrel wax. Did not work. They won't replace or return because its out of warranty. The alcohol you place in the barrel is going to take awhile to leak. By the time it starts you will be out of warranty. 1OK, I guess... 6 month update. Update: These are turning out to be somewhat disappointing. They looked nice when they were delivered, but over time, flaws have become apparent. First, if you don't keep them "hydrated' either with spirits or water, the bands come loose. Then when you re-soak the barrel you have to carefully replace the bands over the marks from the adhesive - or whatever was used to hold the bands in place originally. This is more difficult than it sounds and turns out to be a real pain in the neck. Additionally, the bands are not stainless steel. They've been lacquered-over, but over time the lacquer chips and peels and the bands begin to rust. Anyway, they're OK, but don't they're not as nice as we originally thought.I bought two for my brother-in-law. He loves 'em. I bought two because I thought they might take up too much space to keep one for fermenting in the basement and the other for drinking, but they're about the size of large footballs and fit will on the bar. Also, the scripting is very close to what is shown in the tool, so that worked out well. I'm going to wait until he's done with his first run (bourbon and ... something) to buy one for myself. I'll keep you posted. 3don't buy a lacquered barrel if you want taste. I have 3 barrels this size. I have this one that is lacquered, and 2 that are just wood. This one leaks a little less out of the box, but with proper prep, the others are just as good. Now onto the reason I will never buy another lacquered barrel. I put the SAME white whiskey in all 3 barrels. After 3 months, the 2 plain wood barrels produced a nice smooth whiskey with a nice caramel color. This lacquered produced harsh, slightly tan whiskey, as if it hadn't aged much at all. This barrel doesn't breathe. It doesn't produce good taste. I would recommend skipping this barrel if you want to use it. If you just want it for decoration, it is pretty. 1Not impressed. Over rated and over priced. Was received in good time but not in good shape. Spigot is broken but not unfunctional. Some wood was splintered and broken from underside of valve. Have not made an effort to use this product as the barrel staves have noticeable and somewhat disturbing gaps between them. Hope it seals as stated. There are dents in the wood as if struck with hammer or dropped a few times. The engraving is about the only thing that I do like about this product. A much better and more realistic price for this questionable product would be more in the range of $45-$50. Not worth $70. It is only a novelty item and an expensive one at that. 12/15/18. Up dating my review to four stars. Filled barrel with water and submerged barrel in five gallon pale of water in order to rehydrate wood, Using this method takes about one day until barrel seals. unfortunately this will also wash off the gloss coat finish of barrel. I rather like this as it gives the barrel a more natural dull oak finish. After rehydrating wood I filled barrel with corn whiskey. At the three month mark I have sampled some mighty fine golden liquid. Not a bad product after all. 4... both had the customization straight across - not circular like shown in image Ordered two barrels and both had the customization straight across - not circular like shown in image. Also the letters were engraved in the wood but had no black coloring like shown in the picture. False advertising. 1Love the barrel but i received the stand completely crooked ... I did finally receive a new stand from them but due to the poor quality of the first one and the fact they couldn't even respond to me I'm eating this a 2 for my time dealing w this and the customer service 2
