Pretty Cool -Takes up minimal spaceI bought this for my mom for mother s day. She is always taking food to work for pot lucks and such and I thought this would be a little classier for her to carry into the office than a Saran wrapped plate of cold cuts. When collapsed, it takes up very minimal space in the cabinet. I like that it has the insert for a veggie tray/cold cuts or it can be used for cakes. It looks really nice. It does have the weird holes up by the handles like others have mentioned, but if you re just using this to transport and not store food I don t see it being an issue.I bought the circular cake carrier like this years ago at a local store and I love it. Who has cabinet space for a giant carrier??? 5Caution, don't trust the handle!First time I used to carry 2 cream pies the lid clamps let go dropping both Poe's on to the ground! ONLY carry with both hands underneath! 1Great product.Wow! This product is awesome. Much bigger than I thought. Holds just about anything you'd want. Very sturdy and durable. With it being collapsible storage is no problem. Just a hint for you all... I put a moist paper towel flat in a large Baggie and freeze it, then put it under the tray to keep items cool. Works great. 5Vampire clips thirst for blood!Good for storage at home, but as others have mentioned, the clips that hold it on the base are a menace. You can't just drop the lid on and go, since the clips interfere with setting the lid into the groove on the base if you have it on a table, so you have to lift two of the clips with your hands and then try to wiggle the third clip out of the way. Then, if you want to open or close them, you have to use enough force that when they catch or release, prepare to get the side of your finger pinched against something hard enough to draw blood, or at least a bad bruise.It is useful once you get the hang of it, so I'm giving it two stars instead of one, but be careful! 2HandyJust what I needed but it could be better designed. If you're carrying 2 pies, the one in the bottom will touch the top tray, even if you don't have a high top. Also, there are rubberized circles on the bottom to keep the pie from sliding around, but nothing for the top pie. I cut circles of shelf mat to keep my pie from sliding around. Makes you wonder if the designers of these things ever actually use them :) Anyway, I gave it 4 stars because it's the only thing out there that really carries 2 bakery items safely. 4This container is a HAZARDthe 3 clasps on the side do not hold well. if carrying this by the handle on top, be prepared for the lid to come off and everything to be dumped on the ground. i made 28 colored deviled eggs for Easter and was carrying them in this container. when suddenly one of the clasps come undone and then of course the others follow and all of my eggs ended up on the ground. besides the lid not staying on, the egg holders inside are not made of durable plastic. when they fell on the ground, a large chunk of plastic broke off the egg holder. i am really disappointed after spending about $25 on this. the lid is a hazard! 1Love it! On my second.I had this in red a few years back and it got ruined from not being cleaned properly and I knew I needed the exact one to replace it. It s that good! Don t be fooled by knock offs. I went through two other similar ones and got rid of them. This one allows for plenty of frosting space for cupcakes. No worry of ruined frosting tops! And it easily converts from a dozen, to 2 dozen, to a layered cake. Very versatile. I would recommend to every baker. 5I love it until I saw the holes!It took me a solid hour to find a cake carrier that will allow me to fit two 6-inch layer cakes. Those rectangular carriers made for 13x9 cakes that double as cupcake carrier are not long enough. Sure I can fit two 6-inch layer cakes but there is no room for frosting. Also, they are just not high enough. My 6-inch cakes are normally 4 inches high and I allot an inch for the frosting. The Progressive carrier is the only thing that will allow me to put both 6-inch cakes with plenty of room (both width and height). It's high enough that I could probably do 3 layers. I thought it was perfect then my heart sank when I saw the holes. Why?!!!! Why would you design it this way?!!! Augh I am so heartbroken! I need something to transport my cakes this weekend!Not really sure if the holes are supposed to be there or the product I received is damaged. The holes look a little chipped and I am hoping that the manufacturer did not intentionally put big enough holes to prevent food from staying fresh. Dust, dirt, bugs, ants and what not could easily get inside the carrier. Yikes! I already requested for a replacement and I hope to God the new one they will send me do not have holes! I will update my review as soon as I get the replacement.***4/7/2017- as you can see from the pictures I have posted, the carrier easily accomodates two 6-inch cakes. I didn't even have to remove the tray and I have plenty of room.UPDATE: I just received the replacement and it has the same big holes that I initially complained about. Well, since this is the only carrier of this size in the market I think I will just make it work. I put some tapes from the inside to seal the holes. Problem solved! I still don't know why a food carrier would have holes though. 3Very pleased!Perfect for my needs. It is very spacious and comfortably fit my 2 tiered cake on a 14 inch board. 5Not as big as advertisedAdvertised as being able to hold 2 9 pies, barely fits one in the bottom, will not hold a second on top. Bought this to make my holiday travels in NYC easier, but it didn t help. Just know that you Might be able to get 2 8 pies in, but def not 2 9 pies. Hope this helps someone out. 1
