    Wise Company Entr e Only Grab and Go Food KitWise Company Entr e Only Grab and Go Food Kit: Bought this for emergencies, but wanted to try it out for flavor. Also purchased the Mountain House Essential Bucket (see that review). I will be buying more of the Wise Company products. The price is good for what you get. and over all the food tastes very good.Now for a little breakdown We rated all the different pouches, and for the most part all were good. The best for us were the Creamy Tomato Basil Soup & Beef Teriyaki and Rice. The worst was the Cheesy Lasagna (Wife said it had a bitter flavor, I just did not care for it. It is eatable, just not tasty). Serving wise it was just my wife and myself, so potions were based on left overs. Most of the pouches gave out 3 good serving (could be stretched to 4 small servings). Most everything did better with a little salt and pepper.All in all this is now our go to for emergency food.They were also easy to fix. Boil the water and dump in the food. Works best with a Whisk but a fork does okay to mix. 5Best long term food storage valueThis is the best long term food value. The quality is good. In general, the food is very tasty. I use it both camping and on my sailboat. Sometimes I even eat it at home when I don't feel like cooking anything complicated. 5Very good value per calorie, lots of varietyThe contents of this bucket are inventoried below. Total of 26,400 calories, for a price of 139 calories per dollar. This is pretty good; the only other similar food item with a better cost ratio are military MREs (at ~168 calories per dollar). This bucket would last 18 days on a 1500 calorie diet, or 13 days on a 2000 calorie diet. There's a great variety of different entrees, and we did indeed get a total of 120 servings as promised. Superb offerings -- both delicious as well as sustaining -- make this one very difficult product to surpass the quality of, no less its bargain price .... Again, a superb product. 5I'm pretty happy with this productI'm pretty happy with this product. The bucket is wicked secure and reusable, which is nice. The other products that I've used in this line has a bucket liner that you have to rip off, then can't be resealed again. So, once the food is gone, I've got a large bucket that can be sealed to a reasonable degree. I'm very happy with that fact. As for the food, the family agreed that it's not for every day, but would be awesome in an emergency! "Duh", right? We tried the mac and cheese. It was a little heavy on salt, which is expected, and actually preferred. In an emergency I'm probably not going to be standing around doing nothing so having a heavy salt source bundled with food is a huge plus. Also, I thought the product tasted great, but I'm not that picky; I'll eat just about anything. Great product, I highly recommend this, and I'm absolutely going to be buying more of these. 5Last Resort OnlyI like to prepare for emergencies. We bought the Wise food bucket for storage. Decided to prepare one for supper tonight so we would know what to expect if ever needed. This is easily the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth. We were able to get about five spoonful's in before we couldn't take it anymore. I would rather eat the dog! Mountain House or Legacy is more expensive but at least they taste decent. I will hang onto it as 'the last resort' but only if every thing else is consumed. Unless you enjoy eating mush, I would suggest cutting the water added by 1/4. As far as caloric intake, you would be better off eating a Millennium Bar from SOS at 400 calories vs. wise 250 calories, at least the Bars flavor won't inspire your gag reflex! Some have suggested only pouring out what you need at the time so as not to have to prepare all four servings. This won't work unless you can separate the seasoning/thickening agent from the pasta/rice mix into equal portions. As you can see from pic that would be a chore. 1Camping or survival foodI was looking for a easy, ready made type of food for camping and the Wise company has developed the perfect food. I have used it and not only is it easy to make, but the taste is outstanding. Camping is a great event for any family but there is nothing more perfect then sitting around the camp fire eating a great meal, talking about old times. I recommend this food for camping or just to store at the house for emergencies that may come up. 5Two StarsProduct weight does not match product description.Additionally, "serving" is being used in its usually dishonest sense, and the realistic amount of food provided is a little misleading. A serving, in this case, is approximately 250 Calories and there are 4 servings per entree. So 120 servings means 30 individually packaged entrees. The 60 day supply of food claim is based on consumption of 2 servings per day... Which is rediculous. Two servings a day means 500 calories a day. Even if you were in a coma, that's not enough calories. Realistically, assuming you are doing basic work to survive, you'll need a minimum of 2000 Calories to survive. Thats 8 servings a day, which means this package provides enough food for one person for 15 days.Don't get me wrong, wise makes a great product and everyone should be purchasing this or similar products for run of the mill disasters and the less common more severe kind. With that said, this product is deliberately mislabeled and should be correct immediately. 2which is annoying. Taste/food quality is edible but far lower quality ...Most of the packs I received were manufactured in August 2016, although I ordered in January 2018. That's borderline ridiculous. The packaging for each individual food packet does not inspire tons of confidence. You have to cook in a pot, as the bag is too small to add the required water, which is annoying. Taste/food quality is edible but far lower quality than packs from places like Mountain House and other typical camp food, but to be fair its a lot less expensive than those options. You get what you pay for. 2
