They wanted 25 dollars for the same plastic piece from the dealer so this was a bargin... installed in 5 minutes if you know what you are doing and works like new... wish it was metal but I can live with plastic for 6 dollars 5Better than the originalPurchased this to replace one that broke on our Lazy-Boy. I feel this handle actually works better than the original that came on the sofa. 5Easy replacement (per my husband)Easy replacement for part that has broken three times! Wish it came in metal material but this replacement is same as what furniture came with 4It works.It works, had to modify it a bit. The channel where the cable fits into is a little small, had to file it a bit for the cable to fit. The cable clip that comes with it is also too small. Don't throw away the old clip, use the old clip instead. 3Replacement Handle Works GreatThis replacement handle fit my Best Buy recliner perfectly. It hooked up to the existing cable with no slack or issues. Screws from the previous handle went through the holes in this product and secured it just as the original did. Works great. Now to see about its longevity. 5Good enoughThis is my second one. They are not very durable but they work if you are careful and cheap enough to replace when you need to. 5Fix your broken recliner handle in minutes!The handle to our reclining sofa broke and I assumed I was going to have to get in touch with the manufacturer and wait an endless amount of time getting a new handle. I found this universal one on Amazon and ordered it to see if it would work. It arrived in two days, I installed it in 5 minutes and my recliner is fixed!! Don't waste your time with the furniture manufacturer when you can fix it in just a few minutes. 5It was extremely easy to installI bought this to replace the lever on my Basset brand sofa. It fit perfectly. It was extremely easy to install. For some reason, it even seems to work smoother than the original. I couldn't be happier with it.It doesn't come with installation instructions. So, here's a quick HOWTO... There are 2 screws that hold the "cup" to the furniture. To see them, pull the lever out (as to trigger the recliner). This will expose one on the bottom and one on the top inside of the cupped housing. Removing the screws is easy. After removing the broken unit, there will be a U shaped metal clip that secures the cable to the lever. Gently pry under the 2 free ends of the clip (opposite end from the cable) with flat head screw driver or something similar to remove the clip. The cable will then slide 90 degrees from its final position. This will position the cable so that a small barrel shaped on the end and slot for cable will lift out easily. Now you are ready to replace the broken unit with the new unit. Assembly is the reverse. It's not difficult, but just a little tricky.to get the cable back into the new unit. I accidentally let the cable fall from my hand and it went inside the sofa. I was nervous that I'd have a hard time reaching in the small hole to retrieve it. Turns out, it wasn't difficult. However, I might have just been lucky that the cable didn't fall out of reach. I suggest you be more careful and hang onto it so that you don't drop the cable into the sofa and end up with it out of reach. Maybe get a second person to just hold the cable while you work to assemble the cable to the new unit. Be sure not to put too much pressure on the U-shaped retainer clip while removing it so that it retains its shape. 5Buy the metal one! Your original plastic one broke, because it's plastic :)OK, these work for about 3-6 months if your chair gets heavy use. I'm at 200 and I've went through three counting the original. I recently found an all metal replacement part for about twice the price. When you have to wait 2 or 3 days for your chair to recline every few months it's worth it. 2Great while it lasted.It was an easy installation to replace my broken handle. It worked for a while and I was very pleased, but sadly I only had it 3 and half months before it snapped in half when trying to activate the recliner. I had to purchase a metal one because I didn't want it to happen again. Save yourself the time and money in the long run and just splurge the few extra dollars for a metal one. It's not the sellers fault, just faulty plastic. 2
