Does QC check the bottoms for rubber feet?I have a few of the small trash cans and a larger model for the kitchen, 4 cans in total (models CW1816, CW1833 and CW1180). For the step to work WELL, the cans must remain stationary. I was surprised that the new trashcans were sliding around the floor as I use the step.None of the cans came with all of the rubber feet. In fact, I only received 50% of the rubber feet. Two of my cans are the same model (CW1180), one can came with 3 feet, the other with only 1.These are great trash cans, but the QC on them is lacking. 4Nifty Trash CanWith a kitchen full of new stainless steel appliances, it was time for an upgrade of the whole look. I knew that old "Rubber" brand open plastic trash container had to go. Bottles and cans go under the sink, but I keep a receptacle out in the open for the rest. The Sweethome website recommends a much larger Simplehuman model, too big for my use. But their review got me looking at the brand.I have always had reservations about trash cans with lids and peddles. A "step-and-pitch-it" tap dance would be required every time there was something to toss. With this one, the lid can be raised manually and it will stay up. When working in the kitchen, no tap dance needed. Then the lid can be closed after cleaning up.Another discovery, regular, generic, medium-size trash liners work perfectly. No need to buy the custom ones.I am very pleased with this purchase, more than I expected. It's not too big to be out in the open, but still the perfect size for incidental trash. It's also very attractive and helps give the kitchen a sleek and clean look. I can recommend this trash can without reservation. 5Clean And Professional Medium Size Trashcan, And It Will Show Dings On The Lid SurfaceThis is a great medium size trash can for the bathroom. It looks very clean and professional. As others have stated, this trash can requires a custom liner, and will not work with grocery store plastic bags. I wish this item was more durable, as the lid already has a noticeable small ding on the rounded surface. I have not experienced any problem with the lid / step lever mechanism. I would purchase this medium trash can again. 5High Quality! You get what you pay for!This is our second Simple Human can. We bought our first Simple Human can 10 years ago when we bought a house with the kitchen by the front door where guests walked into the house. I wanted a can that looked kind of elegant, and had a hidden bag. It was the 30 Liter S.S. Butterfly model with slow close. It's been 10 years and it still works like it was new. My one caution is to watch out when little kids are around. They are fascinated by the slow closing feature, and they want to push down on it as it closes. Explain to them that they will break it. If you allow them push down on it enough, it will probably damage the seals in the air chamber and ruin it over time. Then it will just slam shut like a cheap lidded can. We needed a can with a lid for the bathroom also, to keep the mutts out of the garbage. In the bathroom, I got tired of using an off-brand can with a lid that didn't have dedicated bags, not to mention, having bad fitting bags that were a pain to use, visible, and ugly. This little 10L Simple Human can is beautiful, and is the perfect size for a bathroom. When you step and raise the top it comes down very slowly and doesn't bang.If you open the lid by hand, it stays open which makes it a lot easier to change the bags. No smashing sound.So no bigger footprint, more content size, less stooping over because it higher and easier to get at. And easier to replace bags and no smashing sound.I am so glad I decided to try these.There is another size up from this one, but it really is too big for a bathroom. I like these. They still have the removable inner bucket. And bucket does not have the acrid odor of the one that comes with the tiny can. That one had to be aired out for hours before use. This one has no odor.AND THE BAGS FIT PROPERLY. The smaller bag would aways stick out over the lid - completely contrary to the advertising claim. This fits perfectly. BUT THE BAGS ARE VERY VERY EXPENSIVE - IT WORKS OUT TO $15.00 for 60 bags which is 15 cents per plastic garbage bag. 5The finish doesn't show fingerprints too easily (the main reason I tend to hate stainless steel ...We bought this trash can for a diaper pail in the nursery. So far (a month and a half since purchasing it), it's worked really well. The lid closes slowly so I don't have to worry about my son smashing his fingers when he is old enough to get into things. The main thing I haven't loved about it is that the simple human trash bags (they include a few with the trashcan) are expensive. We used grocery bags for a while, but they don't really fit and are too small. We have four gallon store brand trash bags right now and they fit pretty well, but they tear somewhat easily. Most trash, however, isn't quite as heavy as a few gallons of urine-saturated diapers, so the store brand bags would probably work for most people. 4Simply Beautifully MadePerfect size for a person living alone with not a lot of garbage output. The packaging is great, so I was surprised to see the dented up trashcan. I don't have time to return it. Ill live with it, but please take a close look at the photo. I know previous reviews stated that the can was delivered with dents already. Its a gamble for the buyer.3 of the 4 cans were perfect, but I had to remove a star for the one dented can. All 4 cans work as stated and look otherwise brand new.02/07/2017 4Lid came with a dent on the sideThe lid came with a small dent on the side of the lid. Zero damage on the outside shipping box or product box that came inside of it. I can only guess it append at the factory, it does not look like a return. The dent does not interfere with the operation of the lid and not worth my time to pack it back up for a replacement. But giving it 4 stars due to having cosmetic damage that was not from shipping. 4Great Product. Very EfficientI'm an idiot and ordered the wrong size but the trashcan is perfect for my office. Keeping this one and ordering the larger one. The Lid closes slowly and quietly. Bag doesn't hang out where its visible. There is a separate insert that the bag goes in and when you put it back in the trash can, the bag is hidden. I've owned this one in the larger size before and the only reason i had to re-order was because someone sat on the trash can and the lid sunk in. They are great . Simple Human makes great products that last when treated with care! 5
