Now even the garbage and recyclables are sexy. :-)In a one or two person house this is the perfect solution for where should I put all of my recyclable materials, or where should I put all of the food peelings from the peppers and onions instead of having to walk all the way over to the trash can? This fits perfectly underneath the sink and mine gently hooks onto the door without having to use the accessories to bolt it in.I use mine for all of the paper towels and napkins that make their way around the kitchen sink or recyclable materials that get rinsed out. So far in the time that I have had it because it's not filled with food all I have to do is go to the trashcan and open the lid and dump this in without having to change the bags that came with it.Simple human has just ingenious designs and this one fit just the need that I wanted. It does not take up a whole bunch of space under my sink which everybody uses for their detergent and soap or washcloths and maybe a plunger for the kitchen disposal. Sometimes it may move just slightly or the lid may not be properly put back in place so it does not slide into the snug border. The only thing I have had to wash is the top silver piece that is exposed because water will drip down on top of it. Nothing big. Thank you again for helping me get a little more organized even in the area of waste disposal. :-) 5Great Apartment TrashcanI currently rent, so I have to be conscious of how much space I have and creating holes in cabinets/walls/etc. I needed a trashcan underneath my kitchen sink with a lid to help prevent any kind of pest issue. The hanging hook works perfectly with my cabinet and the can is very stable. The sample bags that came with it work amazing, or I can use leftover grocery bags. All-in-all this can definitely lived up to what I was hoping for and I will definitely be recommending it. 5Great for quick disposal of food wasteI use this trash bin under my sink for my food waste. I live alone, and a 13 gallon trash can doesn't fill fast enough for me to empty before it starts to stink a lot of the time. You get a trial pack of bags for the trash can, however I haven't even used those yet as I've just been using grocery bags which work perfect. One really nice thing is you can put multiple bags on at once (I usually put 5-6 on at a time), and the handles of the bags all fit snug under the metal hanging bar. Once it's time to empty the bin I just grab the outermost bag and take that one out, leaving the others in place. It also helps protect against spills in case there's any rips I didn't notice in the bags. 5I never thought I'd ever be so excited about a garbage can, but...I carefully measured the available cabinet space in my tiny galley kitchen before ordering this can. Between the garbage disposal, plumbing and various products stored underneath the sink, would it work? Absolutely!First, it's great having a garbage can so close to everything (no more dripping stuff across the floor!) and out of sight. At first I was skeptical about the capacity, but the can is deceptively voluminous; for a household of three, we fill up a bag about every five days and there is still a little bit of room to spare when we pull it out, so no overflowing! Obviously it won't hold as much as a 13-gallon container, but the bags are pretty strong and won't stick around long enough for stuff to really stink.Also, I found it nice that 10 bags are included, and toward the end of the packet you get a little note reminding you to order more. Do it! 5Perfect for what I need!I've always kept a regular-kitchen-size trash basket under the kitchen sink cabinet, but struggled to keep recyclables separate from non-recyclable items because of the limited space I have inside the cabinet (because of pipes and bulky food disposal). I don't want trash cans visible in the kitchen, so trying to keep things organized under the sink cabinet was a challenge. This trash bin is perfect! It's small enough to fit inside the cabinet and allows the door to close fully, but it's not too tiny that I have to constantly empty it. And having it hanging on the cabinet door is very convenient. The quality is great. The packaging/box was of great quality and fancy-looking. Although it comes with screws if you want to affix the holder, you can just do what I did: hang the hook-type holder on the cabinet door, and slide the can in. That simple. The lid flips open, or it detaches if you'd prefer not to have it on. It comes with 10 bags that fit perfectly (and I mean perfectly), and details of where/how to purchase additional bags (which appear to cost 20-25 cents each). I still have my old bin for recycling, and use this one for regular waste. 5Small, convenient, discreetThe hook at the top is rather wider than my cabinet doors, so it jolts and slides about. I may pad it out with a bit of self-adhesive weather stripping or something. For now, there're a few wooden chopsticks jammed in that mother.Otherwise, I genuinely like it. I can have it on the outside of the cabinet for convenience, or I can easily turn it to hang inside the cabinet for discretion.The can is small enough that a person living solo fills it at a reasonable rate. (Which sounds like a strange advantage, but if you eat fruit and live alone, summertime can be a hellscape of fruit flies or you end up tossing full-sized trash bags 1/4 full just to keep turnover high enough, especially if you're an avid recycler.)I wouldn't mind the ability to hinge the lid from the non-hook side, for easier use inside cabinets, but in general, I like this a great deal. 4Rear of lid is exposed. No tight seal. Small your food garbage.The bin is big enough for your standard supermarket grocery plastic bag to fit in - which is great. It's easy to lift and throw trash away. You do need to make sure if you want to install it under your sink cabinet, that the sink is not in the way underneath. My sink sits lower than the cabinet door so when the door is closed, it runs ever so slightly on the bin's lid.Another area one needs to be conscious of is if the cabinet doors are width(side by side) is shorter than usual, trying to open the door with the bin will not work. You end up having to open both cabinet doors because the bin will get caught on the other door as you open due to the depth/thickness of the bin. Happened to me so I can't use it under the sink.The cons - the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars. The lid does not have a tight seal. The rear side of the lid has a cut out space which leaves the rear exposed to the smelly funk of the garbage. Deal breaker if you are using for food trash like I am. 2Love simplehuman, don't love this trash canI am a huge fan of the simplehuman brand overall and this is the first time I have been not thrilled about an item of theirs. I won't say it's bad, it just isn't great like most of their products are. There are some issues that make it pretty inconvenient as well.Pros: looks nice, slick design. Two mounting options - either with brackets that hang over the cabinet door and don't require screwing in, or by removing that piece and screwing the frame into the cabinet door itself which is what I did after realizing that it wouldn't fit under my sink otherwise. Photos attached to illustrate how this works. I do appreciate that they give you options, which is something simplehuman seems to do well at consistently. The lid fits tightly enough against the top to control the smell if you remember to take out your garbage every few days, which you have to do because of how small the can is.Cons: it's tiny inside and bulky outside. With the lid on and hardware mounted in place it juts out pretty far and requires some careful placement if you have a garbage disposal under your sink as my apartment does. My biggest issue is that the custom 10L/2.6 gallon "R" bags simplehuman makes for it barely - and I mean barely - fit over the rim of the can. It takes some elbow grease to get them on and ends up trapping air inside the can which further reduces the amount of space available for trash. It's a puzzling mistake for a company that excels by putting a lot of thought into the design of their products.I'm thinking about removing the lid and liners and using it as place to dump/store dirty cloth napkins so they don't get lost in the laundry hamper. I will probably just bite the bullet and buy a larger garbage can for my kitchen. 3Best product for the $Tossed my large stainless steel trash can for this compact, convenient to use model. Being close to the sink, I no longer have to carry dripping intents across the room to to trash 5Smaller than 14 height but niceI wanted to get something for my trash that s hidden from people. I do not like the scene of having trash can with its crap infront of me all the time. However, I live in an apartment with a tiny kitchen. Therefore, this trash can perfectly fits my cabinet.The assembly was super easy. It came with Simplehuman trash bags (trial pack), but those are pricey for regular use. I am using regular 8 gallon trash bags , which is very fine.My concern is that the measurments posted are not accurate. The height posted is 14 but it is actually a little bit above 12 . That s why for me it was smaller than my anticipation.Overall, it is worth getting. We are a family of three by the way, so I have to take it out every to every other day 4
