Customer Reviews

Ruined PantsFollowed instructions and the patch just fell off after 30 min...I was trying to fix one of the leg openings in my pants and well as you can see I do not think they work well like that maybe you will have better luck with patching a simple hole. (I would still buy from a better brand)Oh, and they leave a stain once they fall off just FYI. 1They were pretty much one and doneThe edges don't stay down/affixed no matter the heat of the iron. They were pretty much one and done. Waste of my time-- and money. Hoped to get more uses out of pants (my son burns holes in the knees of everything within 2 weeks). Although it initially covers the holes, the very first wash, or even before, will cause corner separation, regardless of the heat setting used. :( 1Fixed My Comforter! Our comforter had a tear in the fabric. I believe it was a defect in the fabric, sort of like a run in stockings. I was going to sew it when I realized it would pucker and look even worse. I wondered if I could iron a patch in behind the tear. So I looked on here and seen these small patches and thought, why not give it a try. They came quickly and as it turned out were the perfect sixe. The slit was a bit over an inch in length. I took the green patch and folded it in half with the glue side in. I used an exacto blade and worked it inside the slit. The using the tip I opened it up with the glue side facing the fabric. I left the comforter on the bed and used a cutting board as an ironing board. I preheated the iron for more than the 5 minutes they said. I pressed on the fabric held it for a full minute. Then I let it cool and presto, the slit was now unnoticeable. Well almost. The green comforter has some white striping in it and the glue slightly discolored the white. Other than that it was a perfect job. It looks a lot better than my sewing job would have looked. I am happy with it and that is what counts. 5Easy fixA package of these paid for itself after 1 use. I used it repair the cuff of my torn corduroy pants which got caught in a bike chain. There rip was going to be impossible to sew by hand so I used a patch on the inside and outside of the cuff to hold it together. After a year of so of washes and dry cycles I did notice the patches coming up on the edges. Even so, I didn't expect them to last forever. I just peeled the original patch off after heating it up with and iron, and put another one on.There are a lot of applications for these patches from clothes to bags or sporting equipment. 5If you have children... neccesityI use these to patch up small holes on all my children's and my clothing. Mostly my kids as I think they spend the entire day walking on their knees at school. I mostly patch from the inside to keep a rip from running, as my wife would rather buy knew clothes than have our kids walk around with patches, and it works great from the inside and you don't even have to care what color patch you're using. And then it just looks like the clothing is worn, not holy. 5Seamstress I'm not, "Singer" Iron on Patches" mend my duds like New!It's easy for me to effect minor repairs to the clothing that I care about with these inexpensive "Singer" Iron-on patches. The clothing I purchase today is expected to last and thus spend an appreciable price for. Good fashion is expensive today and I'm notthe most graceful man while carrying onday to day. The "Singer" patches are in several colors that meet the needs of a conservative business and casual wardrobe. All in all, these simplisic Iron-on patches are just the right touch for a bachelor such as myself. 5 star rating from this guy! 5These patches go on very well. However, my ...These patches go on very well. However, my husband has a pair of shorts he wears while cutting the lawn that had a hole in them that needed mending, I sewed some of the holes, and put a patch over one of the larger holes. After wearing the shorts only one time and going through the wash one time, the patch is already coming off. Now I will have to think of something else to patch up his shorts. I guess if you have something you will not wear a lot these will work, but I will not be ordering them again. 2Easy to use, sticks well, sturdy materialThese patches are easy to use. They seem to stick well, even after I machine washed the garment once. The only possible downside in some cases is the fabric is a little bit stiff. I used it to patch a very lightweight shirt by ironing it to the inside of the shirt over a small hole. You can see where the patch is, not because the shirt is sheer, but because the patch is stiff enough that the shirt fabric hangs a little differently in that spot. However, I could see this durability being a plus if you were using the patches to fix denim or another heavy fabric. 4Started peeling after the first wear.I read the other reviews, some positive, some negative. And I took a chance. I ironed them on my son s pants really trying to make sure they stuck (khaki material) and they started coming off after the first wear. They weren t expensive so that s a plus. 2They work wonders if you follow the directionsYou know what? These patches actually worked. I had two pairs of work pants that wore too quickly in the thighs, and these reinforced that area. I put them on a few months ago and they are STILL stuck on. I was expecting to only get a few days out of them (I expected them to peel after I ran them through the wash and dryer) but they are still going strong. Highly recommend.*Note: FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. Don't assume that you know how to put the patches on, because "how hard can it be to iron on patches?" I made sure to heat up the fabric, then immediately put on the patch and iron it until is stuck. I also let the pants sit overnight so the bonding would take before I wore them. 5
