    Great for travel I like itReally happy as i travel with my press and have broken a few. A couple of user suggestions: the screen is very fine, and i find if you stir the coffee right before pressing, and go very slow it works fine. Otherwise it wont really move and if you press too hard, coffee shoots up between the gasket and the container and makes a big mess!I do not pick up any metallic taste from the press, as i would expect if this is pure Ti. 5Kinda misleading, not all titaniumThis makes great coffee. But why buy titanium only to find the center rod is stainless? I wish I saved my money and bought a plunger that fit a titanium cup I already had. 4Excellent Coffee Press for Backpacking!!Superb! Love this little coffee press. Lightweight and produces an excellent cup of coffee! Best coffeemaker ever for backpacking!! NO more instant for me! Read reviews that say it lets some coffee grounds through but I found if you grind the coffee coarse enough it does just fine. AND if you are in the backcountry I would think a few grounds in your coffee should not be a big deal! Everything, from: the lightweight, non-conductive titanium which allows boiling temperature to be held well, the ergonomic handles make an easy three finger grab on a full cup of Jo'. The filter inside is of a great quality too, coming from a mind well aware of your GMO, plastic carcinogen BPA ridden Ocean's. This can very well be a legacy item for a future generation if kept well & maintained.Thank you Snowpeak, greatly appreciate the craftsmanship!--Update on New Years 2019 that this is my primary maker of hand ground french press coffee in the mornings. Washed after each use with water & air dried, the flavor of organic coffee is memorable for each morning. This is an excellent & light tool to make coffee nearly anytime, anywhere with access to hot water. I am a refugee from the fissure 8 lava flow on Big Island, Hawaii in May 2018 & it is tools like this that transform lives. All the best, 5Plunge Problem SolutionThis is a wonderful French press. It has replaced my bodum which was part plastic :/ I only wish amazon carried spare mesh filters (~$5 from snow peak plus shipping). Anyways, to help a few people worried about the coffee going everywhere when you plunge. An easy fix is to not have a tight fit when it s steeping, just rest the lid on top. In my experiments, a tight fit along with the increasing pressure from the heat is what causes the coffee to explode everywhere. Also make sure you let the boiling water cool down for about 30 seconds. Plunge slow! Hope this helps. Stay active! 5This French press is awesome. Yes some grounds get through (especially if you don't know how to grind coffee for a French press or are using generic ground coffee) but so what. It's the only product of its kind on the market and it does what it says it does. I was looking for a small, lite, plastic free, indestructible travel French press and this press fits that description. 53 cups = 2 cupsThe 3-cup mark is actually 2 measured cups. That just happens to be the amount of coffee I drink every morning, so I'm pleased with the size. Other than that, it seems quality. I immediately removed the fabric filter because it seems completely unnecessary and I don't want plastic in my coffee. I use a glass French press daily at home, so I'm used to working with them. They've replaced the spring on this plunger with a rubber ring, which makes cleanup easier and consumes less water on hikes. Some larger grounds do make it around the sides of the screen, but if you're not a pansy, this shouldn't be an issue lol.TIP: If you're really pressed for space in your pack, you can use the plunger from a regular $10 French press in combination with the Toaks 650ml pot or other cup of the same diameter. Only down side is you eat your food and make your coffee from the same container. I'm including photos of this setup.
