Customer Reviews

worth the wait1 month 1 day for delivery from marketplace seller. worth it, at least for 1! if you need a bunch it can become an expensive proposition. very high quality. much lighter than i thought it'd be, which is great as it won't change the hand weight of the pencil. The built-in eraser is a bit of a downside for me. If you want the pencil+holder to be the size of a normal pen/pencil, then the eraser limits the size of the inserted pencil to about 2/3 the length of a golf pencil. Very very small. 4Easily holds 2" Staedtler pencil, nice metal grip.As an artist, I go through pencils a lot. Knowing how much a good pencil cost, it pains me to throw away the ones I've whittled down to a couple of inches. The Staedtler 900 25 Pencil Holder saves me from having to suffer cramps due to my frugalness. This pencil holder easily grips the 2" Staedtler pencil that I had tucked away, though at most it can fit about 4" inside its chamber. It comes with a replaceable eraser (it's less than an inch in length and you have to twist the top to reveal it) and it also has a twistable circlet that you can adjust to reflect what pencil you have in the chamber. (2H, H, F, HB, B, 2B, 3B, and 4B)It might seem a bit pricey but I'm really satisfied with this product. I might consider buying one again in the near future. 5Best holder for wooden pencils out there, by farVery nice, very high quality. You'd think something like this would be simple to get right, but I've tried quite a few and this is the only one that I like enough to buy again. Other makes I've tried, perhaps more traditional, do not grip the barrel of the pencil firmly enough and causing the pencil and the holder to wobble with respect to each other. This one holds the pencil firmly such that it feels all of one piece. The eraser is very handy. It's easy enough to unscrew and reverse the pencil if you want to pop it in your pocket. Fit and finish is absolutely top notch. I wish it were available in more colors, I would buy eight to accommodate different weights. This one is silver. The picture has a powder-blue tint to it that must have been picked up from the surroundings. It's also available in dark blue, I have one of those too, although it doesn't seem to be available from this seller. This price was substantially better than I found elsewhere. I like it so much I've started cutting new pencils in half so I don't have to wait for them to get short before I can use it :) Note that Japanese pencils are slightly bigger around than US pencils, 7.22 and 7.00 mm respectively for the one of each I have in front of me. It seems to work fine for both, although I use Japanese pencils exclusively day-to-day. 5This pencil holder is ideal for those unwilling to waste their favorite pencilsThis pencil holder is ideal for those unwilling to waste their favorite pencils. The end screws down and tightens itself very securely to the pencil, creating a snug hold. The extra width added to the pencil also seems to make writing easier, making this comfortable for those who write a lot.My only complaint is that I wish the holder held longer pencil stubs, as it only accommodates pencils of about three inches. This is a great product that would work well for artists, students, writers, or anyone who simply wants to make the most out of their pencils.5 stars! 5like the 8BI mainly use the Staedtler 925 25 pencils for drawing, except for a few darker wooden pencils, like the 8B. This holder fits my collection perfectly. Very well made, comfortable to hold (I find the metal ring on traditional pencil extenders to be awkward to hold), and looks great. The eraser assembly is kind of ugly, though. 5OK, but a little disappointingThis is a pretty good pencil holder for slightly larger diameter pencils. It can work on standard sized pencils but beware that it will have to be tightened down as far as it will go, at which point it's pretty easy to over-turn the tightening mechanism just slightly and strip the threads on the collar. This is the primary reason for my disappointment with it, that and the fairly limited range of sizes that it works well with.Pros:Excellent size and weightReplaceable eraserCons:Easy to strip the threads on the tightening collarbarrel accepts fairly narrow range of pencil diametersThe pocket clip is movable and quickly scratches up the finish on the barrel 3Perfect for General's Woodless Graphite pencilsSo far it's exactly what I was looking for. It's very light (about the weight of a new woodless pencil), and it holds my General's woodless graphite pencils very snugly. I'm looking forward to comfortably getting the most out of my drawing pencils from now on.Update: I just noticed that it's got a rotating window above the grip that you can adjust to show which grade of graphite you have in it at the time . . . that's got to be one of the most awesome features to this thing. Definitely recommend, this thing's awesome! 5Expensive but a worthwhile buy for a draftman or pencil artist. It also has a eraser! However, eraser refills cost $$$Expensive but a worthwhile buy and it has a eraser!!!. My biggest gripe is the cost of the eraser refills. This item will cost you $$$. Upon knowing the overall cost with eraser refills, this is a quality pencil holder for those that rely on a quality pencil holder that can take years of abuse without showing a hint of wear. 4Good pencil holder--about what you'd expect from StaedtlerThe Staedtler pencil holder is pretty good and does everything I need it to. Quality seems pretty good, although it's lighter than I would have expected and there are few places where the metal seems a little thinner than I would have liked. My only real complaint is that I bought this assuming it had a spring-loaded clutch mechanism. Maybe that's a bad assumption on my part, but it certainly looked like that from the photos. Instead, you have to unscrew the knurled grip barrel, readjust the pencil manually, and the screw the barrel back down. It's not a big deal, but it would certainly be more convenient if you could simply click the top of the holder to open a clutch and advance the pencil--like you do with a lead holder. On the plus side, it seems well made, and is pretty versatile. Some of the questions/answers above have implied that this is only for use with Staedlter's lumograph pencils. However, here's what I've tried in this holder and they all fit great (several of these have erasers and several don't):Tombow 2558 and Mono100Dixon TiconderogaStaedtler Mars Lumograph (of course) and WopexMitsu-Bishi Hi Uni, 9850 and 9000 4Great for using up the last little bit of the pencilI use pencils until they are little tiny stubs. This holder makes it easy to grip the tiny pencil. Sometimes the knurled grip unscrews but it's easy enough tighten back. The eraser is fine. Not a bad little gadget. 4
