Customer Reviews
Not recommended.
My Japanese tea ceremony teacher taught me the proper care for Chasen, so I'm aware of the proper care for it. Now...after I made 1 tea bowl, the Chasen became all straight...and putting on the Chasen-tate (chasen holder) didn't do a thing. It's made in China so I was aware the quality could be an issue, but wasn't expecting it to be THIS bad....Only way to make them curly again is to wet them, put it back into the plastic container, close the lid, and use the scotch tape or some like that to hold it into place. When it's dried, they are curly again...but it goes back to straight after you use it. Now, this method isn't recommended because it could make the Chasen moldy....I don't see any issue with Chashaku (tea scoop) at the moment. If you're going to decorate this Chasen, then this set is perfect for you! But if you are buying it for Japanese tea ceremony practice...then I don't recommend this at all.
