Customer Reviews

This product did not last me as long as a pressure cooker should.I purchased the t-fal P25107 6.3 quart pressure cooker on July 22, 2016 and probably used it about 15 to 20 times in the last two years. Then it wouldn't hold it's pressure any more. I ordered a new gasket thinking that was the problem, but no. As it turns out the gasket under the pressure indicator button fell out. I called the company and learned while this is a rare occurance they don't consider it to be a manufacturers defect and they don't cover the repair. I also learned because of liability issues I can't order the part, I have to send it in for service. I will be ordering a presto stainless steel pressure cooker as a replacement. While I did enjoy using this product while it worked, I can order a presto brand comparable replacement for less then shipping and service costs on the t-fal. I'm not willing to fix the t-fal not knowing why the gasket disappeared in the first place to have the same thing happen again. 1The fix to get to 15 psi - Step by Step InstructionsLike many other reviewers on here my pressure cooker setting ring was not calibrated to the advertised 5/10/15psi settings when I got it. It was more like 3.5/8.5/13.5.I want 15psi and many of you do too. The problem is that the spring in the setting ring is a little under-powered.I have full instructions below, but TLDR, take the string out and stretch it a little bit to raise the settings up to what you want. The more you stretch the spring the harder it will push on the valve and will let the steam out on a higher setting.!!! Note of caution !!!If you do this and stretch the string out too much the pressure setting ring could be set to something higher than the pot is rated for.Hopefully the two other safety features will kick in and maybe you won't get hurt or anything, just be careful.---- Step by Step Instructions ----1. Remove the pressure setting ring: Press down on the pressure setting ring all the way and turn it past the full exhaust setting, it should pop out of the lid.2. Expose the tabs: Pull the red ring all the way down to expose two big holes on opposite sides of the large back piece. (See Picture)3. Remove the small black piece: At the top of the two large holes there are two tab/clips that hold the small black piece in. You can pop the tab/clips out with your fingernail. After both clips are out the small black piece will shoot out revealing the spring.4. Elongate spring: Note the current length of the spring with no pressure on it. Carefully pull it until the point where it is a bit longer when it has no pressure on it. The longer it is when it has no pressure on it, the higher your pressure settings will be.5. Reassemble: Put everything back together.Cheers,Nathan 5Garbage and no spare parts to fix!!!!I bought this pan in November and the handle has totally broke. I don't know even know if there is warranty for this. I just want to change this part. If anyone has any information please let me know. Thanks 1It started off nice. HoweverIt started off nice. However, after about 3 months, it seemed like it would not create the pressure seal. We thought it was probably our user error because it was not all the time. Then it seemed to increase, and you never new if it would seal or not. My wife noticed that the screws were loose by the handle. This is a problem because the screw heads are on the inside of the lid (see picture). We ended up having to tighten them because it seemed that that was possibly the place where the plastic inner piece (see picture) would not seal. After 10 months, I emailed T-fal, and they first asked for proof purchase. After receiving that, they said that I would have to pay to send it to them, and they would decide if there was a problem. Then they would fix it if there was a problem. However, what if by chance they do it once and it sealed, particularly because we just tightened the screws again. What a bother. We just decided to deal with it. Other people seemed to like it, so maybe it was just ours. I would recommend that if you buy this, pay the extra for the no hassle warranty by Amazon so you can just return it and get another one. 2Beware: High in NickelI just found out that the components in this pot are high in Nickel which can easily leach into food. I've been using the pot regularly for making meat and bone broths. I've suddenly developed allergic symptoms that I've never had before and now know that high pressure cooking creates high glutamine, more so than slow cooking. I'll not use a pressure cooker again. Disappointed in the high nickel in this product (it fails the magnetic test). I fear I've been poisoning myself for months. 1Can't hit 15 PSISetting #3 is supposed to hit 15 PSI. It vents at 12.8 PSI. Useless for my purposes. The T-Fal web site has no contact info for US (404 web error). Looked well made, but it's crap if you can't achieve the pressure you paid for. I'll be trying to return after 1st use, but I regret this purchase and the lost time and product associated with it. 1Handle broke after 6 months, not covered in WarrantyThe cookers' handle just broke loose when I was opening the lid, just 6 months after I purchased and I tried to claim warranty on this as it says the Manufacturer has 1 year warranty. When I called T-Fal on their 1-800 number, it took me a long time to get hold of their rep and she said that the warranty only covers the pot and not the handle and other parts. Its definitely sketchy practice when your warranty covers only POTS. I am going to go with Presto or someone where they have a 12 year warranty and clearly mention what they cover in it. 1This product is excellent for mycology for the priceThis product is excellent for mycology for the price. You NEED the pressure guage to tell if your mushroom substrate is up to temp. Some of you say, "this cooker/canner cannot reach the proper temp". The designer had a brain!!! T-fal had a BETTER IDEA! They have a realitively NOISELESS canner. IT DOES NOT HAVE A NOISY JIGGLER!!!!!!! When the guage hits14-14.5 you are up to temp... The 3 level setting device will click a few times and that is it. (Maybe 15-30 times) After a few clicks it is Realitively noisless! It will NOT click after it is up to temp but will only release water vapor. On HIGH temp stove setting it will hiss but not click. Turn it DOWN to medium and make sure the guage goes back up to just under 15 PSI. Lower the temp and the hiss goes away but make sure it goes near 15 PSI again.. None of the cookers reach 15 PSI THIS IS NORMAL for european cooker/canners! Adjusted correctly is NO CLICKING OR JIGGLE SOUND and NO LOUD HISS... Set properly on my stove is 2 lines above LO plus 1/8 th inch and stays just under 15 PSI. AWESOME DESIGN T-fal. I had a large ALL AMERICAN before this and for the price you can NOT beat it. NO JIGGLE, JIGGLE, JIGGLE, sound keeping you awake at night with T-fal while your substrate is cooking. Noisless and nice for sleeping at night and Taller than many canners. Great for those extra large myco bags. GO T-fal Nice Gooker. VERY USER FRIENDLY! Learn how to use this product and you will NEVER even think about returning it as "Deffective". 5Bad Bad quality...I bought this less than a month and bottom is apart and spill all over kitchen .. it was traumatic and very unsafe.. i was burned and lot of stressed... 1Perfect Pot Roast My First Time Using This Cooker!I've been afraid to try using a pressure cooker until now, but the T-fal cooker was recomended by a friend who has several pressure cookers. I love that this cooker is easy to use--there is no guess work. The seal is very sturdy, the correct positions are marked and the lid is easy to lock firmly onto the base. The pressure valve is also clearly marked and very easy to set. The instructions are clear about maximum fill levels and the minimum amount of liquid required for the cooker to work properly--and there are markings on the side of the cooker itself. Once the pressure was up and the steam began escaping through the pressure valve, I was very surprised at how little heat was required to keep the steam up. I was using the gas cooktop in the RV and started on full power (i.e., setting HI/10) as the directions suggested. I was able to reduce heat to medium low--setting 3 on my stove--and still had plenty of steam. I made a pot roast the first time I used my cooker and it turned out perfectly. I also love that the cooker is stainless steel and easy to clean. Although the lid must be washed by hand, the pot can be put in the dishwasher if you choose. (I wash mine by hand; it's quicker.)I did have a couple of concerns, initially. While the cooker is building up pressure, a very small amount of steam did escape from the top of the lid--but NOT from the places listed as emergency steam releases--that is, it came from around the handle locking mechanism. It was minor and stopped as soon as the pressure was up in the cooker, so it wasn't an issue.I strongly recommend turning the heat to low or medium low as soon as the pressure is up and the cooker starts to steam--it doesn't take much heat to keep the cooker going and keeping the heat too high will use up the liquid in the cooker too quickly. You can always raise the heat a little if the steam slows down. It also comes with a nice steaming basket, but I haven't tried that yet. Overall, this is an excellent pressure cooker. 5
