    Five Starsworks great... 5This is a great unit, works easilyCan adjust the illumination from broad beam to 20-30 yards, or narrow beam out to 200 yards using night vision apparatus. The charging device holds the battery firmly and it recharges in 1 hour. Also has a handy side mount for aging to a rifle to give you a decent way to utilize a NVG device and illuminator on your rifle. This is a great unit, works easily, good price and arrived very quickly. 5Five StarsExcellent flashlight. Very powerful. Enough light for 200 yards detection. 5Good Illuminator, But Read This Review for Important Info on if this will work for You!Good Bang for the Buck! (UniqueFire UF-T20 IR 940NM 38mm)Over the last several years I have purchased close to a Dozen different IR Illuminators and while these are no match in build quality for an Armasight (IR850-XLR), they are less than a third of the price and a good value.Pros- Price!, Good Build Quality, Focusable Beam reasonably good out to 200 yards (depending on your night vision), Three Brightness Levels, Can be mounted in a standard 1" scope ring.Cons- Not as Water Resistant as Higher End Illuminators, Head is Loose and Wobbles unless it is set to the Widest or Narrowest beam angle.Unknown- I've not attached this to any rifle with significant recoil, so I don't know if the Battery contact springs and switches can handle much recoil without breaking the circuit and turning the illuminator off (which can be a problem with low end illuminators).Some Things you Should Know before Buying This or a Similar Item:- I have had both 850nm and 950nm Illuminators and Both do emit visible light (IR Led's peak at the indicated frequency, but do emit light in the visible range), The 850's are quite visible to the naked eye, especially if the illuminator is set to a tight beam and you are in it. The 940's are much less visible and emit maybe 15-20% of the visible light that an 850nm will.- If you're Getting one for use with a Commercial Gen I night vision device do not get a 940nm Illuminator because 90% of the light they give off is Outside of what a Gen I device can see and they won't work (If your using a Gen I Cascade device such as a PVS-2 or Zeiss Fero they will work but you're still better off with an 850nm)- If you're using Digital Night Vision I don't know but I suspect that an 850 or 940 will work fine with the 940's perhaps being brighter (from taking pictures and video's of both the 940's show up brighter even though it's the opposite to the naked eye which is why some of the pictures you see here on Amazon show the 940's being brighter than the 850's), but I haven't been able to verify that with actual digital night vision.- Both work well with Gen 2 and Gen 3 devices but the 850's are slightly brighter (at the cost of higher visibility to the naked eye), more so with Gen 2 than with Gen 3.- A Hack for 850nm Illuminators - If you want to minimize the visible light output of an 850 illuminator while still retaining about 90% of it's illumination you can purchase LEE Filters Polyester filter material 87c (Not the 87, only the 87c) and cut it out (it's paper thin) and place it behind the lens of your illuminator. This will allow most of the usable light to pass through and will reduce the visible light an 850 illuminator puts out by about 80% (only slightly brighter than a 940) This is also a good Option for Gen I devices.NOTE: If you're planning on doing the filter Hack make sure that the illuminator you're buying has a removable ring on the front of the lens so you can do this (the best way to tell if the Uniqefire or similar illuminator has the removable ring is to look at the lens head in the photos- If it has triangular shaped scallops on the forward lens body the lens is NOT removable and if it has small circular holes on the lens body it should be removable). 4Not very goodThis torch is nowhere the level of light required to use nvrs the stock illumination on my scope is far better than this light it's barely visible at 40 yards even when beam is focused I'm not happy going to return and look for something better 1Two StarsNot a very good IR in my opinion. Only about 50 yards working conditions 2Works goodSweet 5Gets decent amount of illuminationGets decent amount of illumination at distances that you'd expect on all three settings. Its not a high-end torch, but the high power setting gets me good illumination out to 165 yards, and the beam can be "focused" to narrow or widen the beam, although you won't get it laser focused.Also: the 940 nm wavelength has done a good job with both deer and fox in my area of remediation. 5Its a keeperLove that it has two charging options...Love the zoom on the lens...Okay...it works really well when the dog has to go outside in the middle of the night in the woods....Will buy it again..for gifts 5
