Pretty good so far. Minor flaws. Just bought this a couple weeks ago for my son to take to preschool. We bring it home every week to wash and return. As far as size and comfort it is perfect. He's 38 " and 3.5y old. The pillow is perfect for him. I like that the pillow is removable for washing. It's also soft and not polyester feeling even though the outer is a cotton poly blend and not 100% cotton.What I don't like is that the flannel inner is not preshrunk, so the first time it is washed, it shrinks and is now smaller than the outer and doesn't lay flat anymore. It can sort of be stretched back out a bit but stretching is not the nature of cotton flannel. I'm sure it would be even worse had I put it in the dryer!I also don't like that it faded so much after being washed one time on cold. All of the edges look very old and faded already and it's been washed twice. WASH ALONE BECAUSE IT WILL FADE ON OTHER ITEMS!!! The tag on it soaked up a lot of dye and is now blue. So glad I decided to wash separately!I guess we will see how it holds up with weekly washing. My son goes to nature preschool and plays outside in the dirt all day so it definitely needs to be washed by the end of the week!I'll update if it holds up or falls apart! If it holds I'll definitely be buying another as it was one of the more inexpensive ones I could find.Oh! A side note. We ordered the large print version of the emergency vehicles. When we got to school we noticed someone else had the small print version. The outer of it felt slicky like a sleeping bag sort of. I didn't open it to see if there were any other differences but it didn't feel as durable as the one we got that was a cotton poly blend outer. Ours feels like cotton. Ours also did seem a bit thicker or larger because theirs fit in the cubby much easier. Definitely seemed smaller in some capacity. 4Not happy. I purchased this exact same mat in the robot design about six months ago to send with my little boy at daycare. We love that one so much, I ordered another one to have at home in the space designs. For some reason, the space one, (which is not used nearly as much as the one that goes to daycare with him every day) is not holding up nearly as well as the other one . This one has faded and started getting those little balls all over it.. and it's the one that has never even been washed. The robot one has been washed multiple times. It's almost as though it was made cheaper than the other one. Also, the pillow they sent with this one is not the same pillow that was sent with the robot design. This pillow is completely flat, and has been since we got it. The pillow that he uses every day with the robot mat is still nice and fluffy. Please see picture below. I would appreciate it if they would contact me regarding this matter. 2A great solution for your little one's daycare sleep time... While we were in the process of enrolling our son into daycare, they showed us this product and told us that we needed to get one for his use during naptime on their cot. We went with their suggestion, selected a style and placed our order.The fabric on the Olive Kids Wild Animals Nap Mat isn't very soft, but it isn't course. The amount of filling could be compared to a light sleeping bag, which is fine if the sleeping environment isn't terribly cold. There is a small pillow that can be removed and is enough for a child to sleep on. We have owned our nap mat for almost 2 years and has had at least 3 days a week of use. It has been washed since owning it and it has held up well (see associated pictures taken after a recent wash).When we initially received the order, we took it out of the packaging, gave it a once over and placed it down on the floor for our little one to check out. We did lay him down on it and covered him, which he quickly got out of it, stood up, looked it over and checked it out. He did spend a couple of hours over a day or two getting familiarized with the nap mat before we took it to daycare the first time, as we wanted to make him feel that he had something from home for naptime.Based on what we found out when we picked him up after his first day, he had no problem going down for his nap and easily went into his nap mat.If you're looking for some form of frequently used sleeping solution for your little one, that can be easily stored, then this Olive Kids Nap Mat is definitely a good solution. This could be used on either the floor or on some form of surface, like a close to the ground cot.If you found this review "Helpful", please click the button below. 5Great to pair with a children's cot I purchased two of these nap mats about 11 months ago for my 4 and 6 year old nephews to use with their cots when they sleep over my house. They wash up well and have kept their color. I am currently trying to warm my 22 month old son up to the idea of sleeping in a big boy bed, and so we start bedtime out on the cot with one of these nap mats. He likes to tuck himself in and snuggle for a bit before I transfer him to his crib. Over the past month, this routine has helped to gently remind him that he can power down and sleep outside of a crib. He looks forward to lying down on his nap mat.CAREI use a top loader with an agitator (it's what I have!) and I hang the mats to dry over the shower rod and pop the vent/fan on. They do take about 24 hours to fully dry, but I find that the quality of the fabric and colors is preserved because they haven't been in the high heat of a dryer. Also, I noticed some reviewers complaining of pilling in the fabric, so I avoided the dryer as that is often the culprit.PROSQuality: Fabric quality is very good, warm and snuggly with no pilling. The colors are also still vibrant almost a year after purchase with proper care.Trolley Sleeve: The trolley sleeve is a pretty thoughtful feature that allows you to attach the rolled up mat to a suitcase.Compact Storage: Since they roll up nicely and velcro shut, I am able to store them neatly in a closet.CONSThe pillow is small and bulky so it is not very ergonomic. The width is fine, but the pillow should be longer and flatter so that a kid's neck isn't cranked up unnaturally. I find that my son doesn't lay his head on the pillow part and instead scoots down a bit which makes the blanket portion ride up onto his face. When I have time, I plan to remove stuffing from the pillow and sew it shut again to solve this issue. 4Disappointed I bought the shark nap mat and received it yesterday. In the past I have bought the mats directly from Wildkins website and have never been disappointed. Today I am COMPLETELY disappointed. After receiving it yesterday I immediately washed it in cold water and laid it out to dry. The material is very rough and the blanket wrinkled. How is a nap mat that I bought yesterday after one wash look like this? How is it suppose to last an entire year? I am extremely unsatisfied and want a refund. Not worth the money. Plan to buy directly from Wildkins. 1Terrible quality I am so disappointed with this purchase. I ordered this mat a little over a month ago and used it for nap time at school. I've been washing it once a week and followed the care instructions on the label. The quality is really poor and the fabric already looks faded and old. I definitely expected a better product for this price range. I like the design and the features of the mat but the fabric quality is terrible! It's been over 30days now since we ordered and now I can't return it :( 1Toddler son LOVES it As soon as I busted out this sleeping mat for my son, he GRINNED from ear to ear. Perhaps he saw the "bed" as a rites-of-passage of having his own bed, but he enthusiastically crawled on top of the mat and pulled the blanket portion over himself all the while smiling.I bought this in preparation for our Yosemite camping trip, and so it was important to have something that was portable and did not take much space since transportation could be limited when taking children camping.The mat is a bit thin and would not be suitable for camping in a tent without additional padding -- the child would be freezing as the heat rapidly transfers into the ground. So, be sure to bring a thick yoga mat or (ideally) a mat made specifically for camping.Overall, I am happy with the purchase as my toddler is in love with it. 4Love this mat Love this mat!I had originally purchased the classic plastic nap map for my 15 month old son to use at Daycare for nap-time. He seemed a little uncomfortable on the plastic mat and it was a pain having to bring that + pillow + blanket in and out every week. I decided to go ahead and purchase this mat to replace it and I'm so glad I did! Pillow, mat, and blanket all in one makes it easy to lug around as you can roll it up and carry it on your back. Easy to wash as it's all in one and so far 5 washes in and it's still holding up like new, also a very cute design. Glad I made the upgrade! 5My son absolutely loves this sleeping bad! He wanted to unroll it and climb into it as soon as we took it out of the box. I got this for my 4 year old son to take on an 8 hour flight. I wanted him to have something cozy and that he could carry himself so he could feel like a big boy walking through the airport with his luggage. And then for nap time at pre-school,after the flight.The fabric for the outer part of the blanket and the padded portion are not soft, They feel kind of like a L.L.Bean backpack which probably makes it stain and water resistant, I wouldn't like the feeling on my bare skin, but my son doesn't seem to mind. The inside of the blanket it very soft, it almost feels like the inside of a pair of new sweat pants. The pillow very padded and comfy and the padding for the child to lay on is also well padded. 5Extremely disappointed with the quality!! Only had this for 24 days, washed it 5 times. After each wash, it is air dry. Never in the dryer. I already notice from the last two wash that the sleep mat is not made from great quality. From the pictures I posted, you are able to see the seams coming out and the cotton bulking up around the velcro. For $40, this mat is a huge disappointment.My son loves the airplane print but for the cost I dont believe it is worth it. I will have to get him another mat for his daycare soon. 2
