    Used for a front porch gateI used this for a front porch gate at my house. It was being left open, or small kids would slam it and I was worried about little fingers. I had to make a bracket to fit the particular shape of the gate, but otherwise works flawlessly. I'm sure that being outdoors (covered by patio, but still...) will take its toll on this closer. But if I get a couple years out of it, I can just buy another one for such a cheap price.5Works well and closes quietlyI bought this to replace another door closer that I bought a couple years ago. This works great after you get it set properly. It took me a while to get it installed messing around with the adjustments, but it now closes properly. It was initially making a banging noise even on the slowest screw setting, but I read on a different website to move the bracket closer to the door jamb and this solved the problem. I can no longer hear the door close since it stops a few inches short of being fully closed and pulls it in slowly for the last few inches. I don't know about the longevity of this door closer but even if it lasts a few years like my old one did I will be happy with it.5Excellent choice for my mom's glass doorThese are much beefier than the standard use units that come with a glass door. Replacement was super easy... I used the mounting hardware that was already screwed to the door and just replaced the shock. Works great this way, and now the big heavy glass door doesn't slam shut and catch my mom's ankle or the dog.5do not seem like cheap aluminum screws (unlike some others)the unit with the 14 inch barrel is preferable as it allows a wider door to open more fully. Standard spacing, all hardware included, do not seem like cheap aluminum screws (unlike some others). Doesn't quit in the last inch, and seems to make sure door closes by retaining pull throughout for solid seating. Previous 11 inch, standard unit, didn't let 36 inch door open fully, now solved. I'm thinking of getting another for back door if I can get corroded screws out for replacement. This was a satisfying purchase.5Easy to install and does the jobI have teenagers that constantly forget to close the screen door. This inexpensive fix restored my sanity!! Before installing, I made sure to read the instructions, and I assembled it without installing it to give myself an idea of how I wanted it set up (height, etc.) I also pre-drilled holes to make sure I wouldn't ruin the screws included. Took me maybe a total of 15 minutes installing it. The only reason this does not get 5 stars from me is that the door either slams or doesn't close, I've tried to adjust it and can't seem to get the sweet spot where it will close without slamming the door. I decided I didn't mind the slamming as much as I like that the door is closed like it is supposed to be.4Not a Smooth ClosingThe pneumatic aspect of my screen door had given out so I purchased this to replace it. While it was very easy to replace, the new one slams the door shut in the last 2-3 inches before closing, resulting in a pretty loud bang. So now, I have to stand there and wait for it to close so that I can buffer the final closing by hand.3Closes door swiftly without slamming It is a direct replacement of a regular door closer (just replaced it using the same holes), but it is heavy duty. I originally considered the one touch type of locking ones, but decided against it because you have to figure out where to move It's location so it doesn't interfere with the door. I had to adjust the closer adjustment screw with a regular screwdriver to set it to the door I installed it on (which took an additional 2 or 3 minutes) 5Not reliableworked for about 2hrs and lost it s power. Now my door slams shut. I have tried adjusting the screw setting and seems the piston went bad1Easy to install and closes storm door. Great buyTook 10 minutes to install. Works like a charm and now storm door closes on it's own. great for the price. Update: had it on the door now for a couple months and it is still going strong and closing the door. Great price for a lost lasting door closer5Easy and quickTwo pins, six screws and now the screen door doesn't bang every time you leave the house. For $10. Yay. Installed in 10 minutes. The only thing you need is a very long bit for your drill or a long screwdriver.5Product Is A Heavy-Duty Replacement For Closers On Larson Storm Doors We purchased a pair of these pneumatic closers to replace those pulled from our storm door in a wind storm. They are actually a heavy-duty upgrade to those that came with our Larson storm door. Because these closers use the same hardware, it was a simple procedure to remove the old closers, patch the holes in the door frame (the most time consuming task), and install the new closers. The biggest difference is that it now takes more effort to open the storm door but that is to be expected. Storm door closes very smoothly. 5Smooth operation It s a little different then the one that came with my door. It s slightly longer but same diameter and weight. It s required moving the bracket on the door itself and I was able to leave the old jamb bracket in place. It s easy to adjust and the operation is quiet and smooth. Price I paid was half what the big box store up the road is getting for these. 5Easy to install - would recommend highly!I am a teacher mom with 2 little kids and now home for the summer. Our heavy sunroom door would just swing open randomly if not locked and I was worried my little one would get outside, or even our indoor cat. This was so easy to install - I did it by myself in about 10 minutes (would have taken less time if my kids were in another room!). Now our door shuts very quickly (I set it to close very quickly so I can ensure the door closes completely) and it will not swing open. This was a very inexpensive game changer for our family this summer!5
