Customer Reviews

Works with Garmin vis NEMA backbone Plugs directly from my Yamaha 70 into the NEMA backbone and works very well. I purchased a Garmin and use the gauges feature on it in lieu of cluttering up my console with multiple gauges - Garmin told me I needed the Yamaha proprietary adaptor to make this work - not correct - works great without spending several hundred bucks for the adaptor - 5Worked Perfectly I connected this cable to my 2018 Yamaha F150XB, and then to a NMEA 2000 backbone that then connected to my Garmin Echomap 74 chartplotter. Everything worked almost perfectly, i.e., engine readouts (e.g., RPM, GPH, pressures, temps, except engine hours) were displayed on the chartplotter "engine" screen. Simple and less expensive than purchasing the Yamaha proprietary instruments. I don't know why "engine hours" displays as dashes. Maybe that's Yamaha's hook to get you to buy their instruments? 5Awesome Purchased this to hook up my 2011 Yamaha 90 4stroke to my lowrance ti 9. Super easy to install. I purchased a new-to-me boat and wanted to know how many hours were on the motor. (Only 80 hours-yay me) I was able to get rpm, trim/tilt, hours, and temp. and fuel economy. I don t even look at my analog gauges anymore. Easy to install but you need to have a nmea starter kit/backbone. This cost me less than the local dealer was going to charge me to read the hours- not to mention they were backed up for 8 weeks. Great purchase. 5Perfect for displaying technical info about a Yamaha F150 4-stroke outboard in a NEMA 2000 network. This was the right tool to connect my 2012 Yamaha F150 4-stroke outboard motor to my new NEMA 2000 network so I can see motor details in my Humminbird chart plotter. The Yamaha engine has a plug pre-wired and easy to access, that connects to this cable. This cable went to my NEMA 2000 network in the boat, which ties into the Humminbird chart plotter. I can now see actual RPM, engine temp, fuel used per hour and per trip, fuel economy, engine hours, and more. I recommend this cable if you have the above equipment. 5Good stuff. Engine hours too! hooked right up to 2012 Yamaha F90. Remember you still a Nmea starter backbone with this typically. Once hooked up to my Lowrance Elite 7 its provides pretty much every function of the motor. This includes engine hours which one of the big ones I was after. 5Worked perfectly between a 2014 Yamaha 250hp and a Garmin echomap 74cv Worked perfectly between a 2014 Yamaha 250hp and a Garmin echomap 74cv. Garmin was able to read out RPM, fuel flow, oil pressure and more with no extra software or hardware. I did use the NMEA Network Starter Kit, Model 124-69 purchased on Amazon for the backbone hookup. Yes, this is a Lowrance part and it is compatible with my Garmin and Yamaha 250hp engine. The hardest part of the install was feeding the Interface cable though the engine wiring harness to the transom of the boat, not impossible just time consuming. 5Works with Yamaha sho 250 to elite ti Installed on my Zx 250 skeeter with a Yamaha 250 sho.Linked to a Lowrance elite 12 ti. Other than fishing the wire through the boat the install was a breeze, just plug and play with some minor settings having to be adjusted on the Lowrance in order for it to recognize the interface cable. Very happy with the purschase I now have hrs reading, temp, boost, fuel consumption etc.I would say overall the install could be done by anyone with a little creativity as the wire was a little tricky to fish through. 5Buy THIS as an alternative to Yamaha's CommandLInk system Bought a '16 pontoon boat (25ft) with a Yamaha F150 outboard. My boat has analog dials on the dash but I wanted to install a SIMRAD GO7 fish finder/gps which can be connected to the motor. THIS interface cable works perfectly and allows me to view all the engine details I want on the SIMRAD (engine hours, sog, engine temp, oil pressure, etc). DO NOT let Yamaha talk you into their CommandLInk system or whatever it's called (way too expensive). All you need is this interface cable connected to a NMEA backbone or starter kit (model 124-69 on amazon found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002BBFE98/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_13) then your NMEA backbone can be connected to just about any GPS/fish finder you have.I bought a SIMRAD gps/finder which is way more than I need on a pontoon boat, but it works flawlessly with all of the Lowrance cables.Bonus points for coming with an extra T-connector...can never have enough of those! 5Easiest upgrade you could ever add to your boat! I connected this to my 2017 Yamaha F115B outboard. Easiest upgrade anyone can do. See actuall engine hours, engine temp, current fuel burn rate, total fuel burn since fill up. Adds digital gauges to your fishfinder screen like RPM, speed, fuel efficiency, tilt/trim angle ect.... so easy to add to your boat a six year old can do it. 5Works great much cheaper than Yamaha gateway. I connected this to a Yamaha F200XB outboard and a Simrad GO7 via a NMEA 2000 network. I have oil pressure, water temperature, tachometer, and voltmeter. I added a "WATER PRESSURE SENSOR 69J-8A4L0-15-00" (From Simyamaha) to my engine and got water pressure. I connected two pink wires together to get the trim/tilt indicator to work. The two pink wires are located in the front of my engine. I added a "Navico Fluid Level Sensor" (From Amazon) to my fuel tank and got fuel gauge. I also added a "SPEED SENSOR KIT 60V-8A4L1-14-00" (from Simyamaha)" although in retrospect this may be unnecessary as the GO7 gets SOG from the GPS.Update: May 23, 2018Last season, the remaining gallons and the range was not being displayed. I had to add Lowrance Fuel Data Manager NMEA 2000 purchased from Amazon. That fixed the "gallons not shown" issue on my setup. Hope this helps someone. 5
