Meh... Yes, these keep your grill cleaner. Yes your food cooks on them. yes you can wash them in the dishwasher (though taking up lots of valuable dishwasher real-estate in the process).Getting grill marks on your food: Not so much. maybe if you pre-heat these for a long time first it would work, but you don't get grill marks on the food as easily as they claim.We honestly just purchased these because my father in law saw them on an infomercial and wouldn't stop talking about them until we bought some to try out. 3Hesitant at first to try, but these grill mats really do improve your grilling These are amazing grill mats. You still get the grill lines but you are not as concerned with things burning on the grill. There is really very little clean up. Just soap and water. They work outstanding for steaks, seafood, chops, etc. The only thing that I have grilled that I was not totally pleased with was hamburgers. The grease tends to stay on the mat rather than seep through so you need to manually scrap it off from time to time or the meat sits in grease. Otherwise, these are outstanding and I find grilling with them better than using just the plain stainless steel grates on the grill. I am not sure yet of the life of each mat since I have only grilled about six times. 5More hype than anything I followed the directions to wash it before the first use. I placed it on a gas grill and cooked a steak. It worked great but did not clean up as advertised. After one use it is discolored and will not come clean. 2Great addition to outside grilling. I got an old gas grill. It works great. The grate was really discussing and were going to need to be replaced. I got the copper grill and bake mats and I cannot grill enought. Cooks food great the grate markings, heats up quickly, and very easy to clean. I bought a set for a friend of mine and he could not be happier. 5No bbq lines and don't clean up great They do not clean easily...couldn't get all the black off of them after first use. The meat and veggies did cook evenly though..so I will use them again..but easy clean up is a benefit for grilling but these require a lot of scrubbing. 3I have had great success cooking both chicken and steaks Works as advertised....meat doesn't get burned by flare-ups and still gets grill marks...I have had great success cooking both chicken and steaks! 4Terrible experience! Terrible experience! 1Love to grill with this mat This makes clean up much easier - product is pretty good as far as anti-stick, but sometimes food does still stick in places. I would not say you get the "grill marks" on your food - but it tastes great, so the grill marks are not important to me. 5Love these mats!!!!!!! I have a smoker, kettle grill and a gas BBQ. I normally only cook with charcoal but when I am lazy, I use the gas. My problem has always been being unable to control the flames from the dripping fat or chicken skin until I found this. First of all getting your grill marks. Turn your BBQ on high (without the mat) throw your meat on and get your char and grill marks on the outside. Remove meat, turn to low and put the mat down and put your meat back on. No flames going through the mat and the meat will be juicy and perfect when done. I do not understand complaints about clean up. Soap and sponge does the trick. Dishwasher works great also as the mat will fit around anything.Also for smoke flavor, get a metal wood chip holder that sits on the grill - fire up grill to high about 10 min prior to cooking and the chips will start smoking on your gas grill. 5Amazingly.... Amazingly, it works pretty well. I have a Treager, which is more of a smoker, so the meat didn't get those nice grill marks, but it kept the bottom tray and grill clean. Plus, I retain the juices on the mat and carefully poor them on the meat when done. The mat cleaned up nicely and quickly. I'll be using these from now on. I think, in order to get grill marks, you have to have a charcoal grill with heat coming up from the bottom. My grill is more of a smoker with ambient heat. I like. 4
